IT IS TIME.

Exquisite Timing For The Perfect Choice

We’re heading towards the third week into 2013. Within the next 50-odd days, we will undoubtedly hear an important announcement regarding the general elections.

All parties concerned are making serious preparations while being on standby mode for the call by the Prime Minister to dissolve the Parliament.

In the midst of being busy as in any organization, we sometimes forget to think of important ways to ease the burden of the party and prepare those who will be directly involved.

In this case, preparing the candidates and helping them to in turn help the nominating party to achieve the desired results. Directly said, the candidates’ names should have been finalized and they should have been informed confidentially of their impending candidacy.

Knowing early that they will be contesting, they can start working the ground quietly.

Indeed there are advantages and disadvantages of this but I’m sure the former will have the edge.

ADVANTAGES OF INFORMING THEM CONFIDENTIALLY IN ADVANCE

1. They can prepare and propel a few notches up in speed, spending more time than they usually do, to eat, drink and sleep with the people.

Please don’t even retort by asking, “But aren’t they supposed to be doing that regardless?” Local politicians are humans as well. They have been unselfish in their past and most of the wannabes have spent almost their last dime in the name of the struggle over the years.

And if an audit is done, you will find that these are the people who earn not any contracts form the government, nor soft loans to splash with, but in return utilize their monthly and whatever other income they have in the name and the sake of the people.

They probably shouldn’t but will unfairly to themselves and family, dig into their own reserves on the risk of not being chosen with an empty account to show at the end. Remember, there is no extra allocation from anywhere for these people to spend more than they should above and beyond their affordability.

2. They will even go beyond their reserves and seek financial aid from close friends and relatives who share in their common struggle.

3. More programs will be organized by the known candidates on top of the ones being organized by the establishment thereby increasing the frequency of integrating with the people.

4. Besides the amount allocated by the party when the campaign begins after nomination, they would by then have filled their own war chests with the help of their corporate friends and those who believe in their passion to serve, thereby making the party’s one ringgit allocation stretch even further than anticipated.

DISADVANTAGE OF INFORMING THEM CONFIDENTIALLY IN ADVANCE

1. The One and ONLY fear is that the candidate will burst his own bubble and the failed aspirants will sabotage the campaign.

Well, we would think that if the leaders choose their candidates, they must come with at least some form of intelligence, enough to know not to shoot their own foot or spill their own beans lest they will lose in the elections or possibly be changed even before the nomination day.

The Past Convention Is To Tell Them At The Last Hour And For Some At The Very Last Minute. Does That Make Sense? Is There Any Logical Advantage To Take That Course At All?

PROBLEMS THAT CAN ARISE IF CANDIDATES ARE INFORMED AT THE LAST HOUR

1. When the candidate is not to the liking of a certain faction in the division for example, they can sabotage the guy by cowering the State Chairman into switching names. This has happened in the past where we saw a mere appointed committee member being shocked with the news of him being chosen on the morning where the candidates fill up the nomination forms. On the contrary, if the candidates were told way in advance, he would have done his job of wooing and winning the hearts of his possible detractors from within the party, so good that they will in turn campaign to ensure his victory.

2. Sometimes, certain parties can sandbag the choice at the federal level at the end by slipping in his own choice just to make the cut whenever there is chaos.

Yes, trust me, with close to 1000 seats being contested at the federal and state levels nationwide, there will be more than just a few chaotic instances. The Situation Room in Putrajaya will make the noise at the New York Stock Exchange play like Julie Andrews’ “Sound of Music”!

The chain of command will be lost for a while making it look like the State is doing a favor for the federal decision makers because the latter’s plates are already overflowing with other decisions that needs to be made all at the same time. Yes! I have seen this happen too. At the end, it may not be the correct and next best-vetted candidate, but the choice of the State leader who is picked.

A lot of great work has been done by the top leaders to take us thus far in good stead, and we are still peaking. Let not the end be a disastrous one after a beautiful buildup.

I know most of those who are primarily helping the Prime Minister to call the shots up there. And they, including the PM himself, enjoy the game of golf.

So, allow me the use this golf analogy crisply.

Gentlemen, So Far You Have Split The Fairway On The Drive And Hit The Green On Two On The Par 5. Let’s Not Take 5 Putts To Sink The Sucker! If You Don’t Make This Cut For The Next Round, We Will Forever Be Left Out Of Bounds!

As They Say, “ Drive For Show, But Putt For Dough!”

See You At The Box! No! Not At The Tee, But At The Ballot!

CANCELLING TANDA PUTERA = TANDA PENGECUT!

I am not one of the privileged bloggers who were exclusively invited by the director of the film “Tanda Putera”, Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba for a private viewing earlier this year, but I did view the trailer and know my history.

This topic has been unnecessarily deliberated upon on numerous occasions, gathering flack from all parties who’ve not even seen it!

A Sign That It Is Too Close To The Truth. Are We Ashamed Or Afraid To Show it?

I think the Rakyat is anxious to see it regardless of race, religion and creed, but the politicians are the ones bitching about it. After watching it, citizens can then come to a conclusion and form their own opinion and it won’t be political.

This is about an important period in our history, which fundamentals cannot be altered. People will not decide to vote for or against a certain political party based on this movie. Trust me, those who won’t vote Barisan Nasional already had their skewed minds made up, even before the cast were picked and the scenes shot.

Indeed, this is a very sensitive issue but it showcases the exemplary leadership of two great men in our history and their decisions at the most crucial of times that carved and guaranteed the security and harmony of this great nation until today.

The onus is on the government to trust the faculties of the Rakyat upon viewing this movie. We are a matured nation of fifty-five years. By postponing the showing of Tanda Putera until after the elections, we are:

1. Fooling the Rakyat presuming that they are shallow enough to think that we care for their “sensitivities” when we’re ready to not give a damn on what they think after the elections if we show it then.

2. Exhibiting extreme cowardice, jumping in fear every time the opposition expresses outrage over an issue overturning clear decisions made earlier.

3. Telling the Rakyat that we don’t trust them to be mature enough to weigh the good from the bad that come out from this movie.

4. Bastardizing the valiant effort by Tun Abdul Razak and Tun Dr Ismail to save this nation from racial ruin, giving us the peace that we enjoy until today.

We Are Illegitimatizing Their Past Effort That Allows Us To Co-exist In Peace Today.

The Ministers who keep on making U-turns on decisions are making the Najib administration look no better than the flip-flopping leadership of his predecessor.

As have been written on several articles in The Patriot alone, the government needs to do extensive research and weigh the pros and cons on any decision before it is made which must then be irrevocable when it is announced and implemented. Anything less would mean that we have half-baked leaders who are followers, not decision makers.

Running this country is not about trial and error! Neither is it about being popular. It’s about preserving the well being of the people and the health of the economy asserting balanced authority at all times.

If screening this movie wasn’t a good idea, then it should not have been shot in the first place, or the announcement of its screening should be held until we were dead sure of the most opportune moment to have it screened unperturbed by hackles from the naysayers in parliament. That would then be the showing of a strong leadership!

It baffles me when the government can come to the aid of a traitor movie producer who reviled our National Anthem when he was a student but can stop a patriotic movie like Tanda Putera from being screened indefinitely. What kind of message are we sending to the young citizens of this country? “Vote for us but you don’t have to be a Patriot”? Is that it?

The High Council Of The Patriot Foundation Will Be On His Majesty’s Service Tonight Being Inspired Watching James Bond In The Service Of Her Majesty The Queen Of England.

This Movie Has Been Announced Much Earlier To Be Screened On The 1st Of November Worldwide, Watched By More Than A Hundred Million Viewers. It Cost Tens Of Millions Of Pounds To Shoot This Film And Will Be On Screen Without A Glitch, And On Time.

Malaysia On The Other Hand Can’t Even Decide When To Screen “Tanda Putera”, A Movie Costing Less A Million Pounds Worth To Be Watched By Not Even 5 Million Odd Viewers.

 Razak...Najib Razak. Licensed To Lead

James Bond May Take His Concoction One Way And Not The Other, But In The True Spirit Of Tun Abdul Razak, His First Born Who Is The Current Prime Minister Of Malaysia Should Learn To Take His Fix Not Shaken Nor Stirred By Any Party When Serving It To The Rakyat!

HUMBLE TIPS FOR THE POTUS FOR DEBATE # 2

Energized And Hungry To Win

Looks Tired With No Appetite

All Things Being Equal In Arguments On Government Policies, The Sitting President Of The United States Of America (POTUS) Should:

1. Retire his image consultant.  If he wants to retain the Presidency, the least he should do in a debate is look more Presidential than his opponent.

2.  Drop the tie he wore on Debate 1.
a)  He should be wearing a tie reflecting one of the colors on the American flag. The dark blue field upon which the 50 stars rest on in the flag would have been a more appropriate color and exhibits firmness.

b)   A light blue tie like the one worn would have been appropriate if he was running for re-election as Secretary General of The United Nations.

3. Lose that limp on his walk making him look like he was coming out of a basketball court at half time in the Bronx.

4.   Never nod in agreement when his opponent is listing his shortcomings.

5. Be more aggressive instead of back-paddling and being defensive.

6. Capitalize on his history in service as a community worker thinking of the welfare of the mass as opposed to the corporate fellow who strives on profits on the backs of others.

7. Remember that he is stacked against a popular pair in Romney and Paul Ryan, who look like 4 pointer fraternity “ jocks ” in a University with substance, not a 70 year old war veteran who could possibly get a cardiac if his hot looking soccer mom running-mate walks in the Oval Office with a couple of buttons loose at the top.

8.  Be less laid back and get hungry again. Yes, he may be the first half-cast/African American to be President of the United States of America, but he should push that extra mile to ensure that he is one that can serve the maximum number of terms allowed.

Mr President, You Inherited A Country That Incurred A Massive Debt Going Into A War Based On A Malicious Lie That Also Cost Thousands Of American Lives.

That Burden Was Left For The Future By Your Two-Term Predecessor Who Belongs To The Same Party As Your Opponent. Do Better Than Your Best Now In Words As Well As Action, And Leave The Rest To The American People To Judge!

Remind Them That They Are Paying Now And Possibly For The Rest Of Their Lives, For The Sins Of The Republicans!

Good Luck Sir!
