I read with disgust of former UMNO/ BN Ministers and politicians, who’ve upon joining so-called non-governmental organisations and/ or the opposition, becoming “amanah” or trustworthy after they are no longer in power. Did they just get their conscience back?

In the Malaysian Insider yesterday, this ex-minister admitted to “been given lump sums of money to distribute” as head of delegation of many campaigns, though he was quick to declare that he didn’t personally use the money. Does he think the world would believe him?

People like him should be treated as an “Outcast” or “Pariah”, not only to the Party but also to the Nation.

Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir confessed that he was given the responsibility back then, but did he remain quiet to save his cushy position in the Cabinet? He has accused the government of the crime without giving any substantial evidence and even worse, insulting the voting Rakyat by implying that they are equally corrupted for taking the money and voting us in.

The government is on trial based on the words of an ageing politician who wants to remain relevant by declaring alleged wrongdoings of the government while he remained a part of it then. It doesn't make him any noble for making the confession today.

What it does is putting his "shady" credibility in question for not having the sincerity to resign on principle while being an accessory to corruption, if his allegations are correct.

As I have said before in my previous posting here Kadir should shake himself out of this hallucination implying that the people do not enjoy the right to free and fair elections in this country.

Lest his memory should be failing him because of his age, please allow me to remind him that it was the truly free and fair elections that saw his brother Abdul Aziz lose his seat in Kulim to an unknown (Zulkifli Nordin) who has today become more recognized in politics than he and his brother will ever be.

And it was also because of truly free and fair elections that we saw the opposition become the ruling government in 5 States in the Peninsula.

While he had the audacity to ask UMNO to accept the losses, his own brother could not accept the choice of the Rakyat. He went to court to contest his loss in Kulim, although the leaders were not too keen on such an action.

In response to Kadir’s call, PAS has already been given the right to publish news through Harakah, a publication for its members, however, no action has been taken by the authorities for its wide distribution beyond the party. PKR also has their own publication though they don’t have a newspaper license.

Kadir's action further suggests that no license is required for anyone to spread more lies to confuse the Rakyat. It is not losing that we fear, but misleading and fooling the Rakyat with slander and libel that worries the sincere leaders of this Nation. There is more to this country than just politics.

Abdul Kadir has two other brothers who are holding positions in different UMNO divisions. One of his brothers is said to be close to one of the top leaders in UMNO. I suggest that our leaders be wary of this family and not allow privileges be given to them if their loyalty as proven can be wavering while trying to remain noticed once they become insignificant.

The UMNO Disciplinary Board Too Needs To Constitute Proceedings Against Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir. Perhaps We Can Use This Opportunity In Exhibition To PAS As To How To Expel One Of Our Members With Class…But Then Again In My View, Kadir’s Reputation Is Not Even Worth The Ink On The UMNO Expulsion Papers!

MAY GOD HELP NAJIB RAZAK!

Every two steps our Prime Minister takes forward, it seems like he is taken ten steps back by the people that he has entrusted to collectively run this country.

Surely they can make decisions reasonable enough not to refer to him every single time and if so, it has to be well thought of to the advantage of the Government benefitting the Nation, and not to destroy it.

Now, PKR is organizing a rally on the 9^th of January 2012, a working day and in the middle of Kuala Lumpur.

What is this demonstration about? Is it to object a half pornographic Western rock concert? Is it to protest against foreign interference in our domestic political affairs?

NO! It is to pressure and influence a Court’s decision on a person who along with his political party, are supposedly famous for championing the Rule of Law (only when it favours them, as history has shown).

This indirectly is tantamount to contempt of court and should be deemed outright illegal.

Anyone who thinks that the demonstration can be done peacefully if an unfavourable verdict is delivered, must seriously have their heads examined!

NO WIN SITUATION:

Here are the scenarios for the Government to comprehend if the demonstration is permitted:

1. 1. If the ex-convict in question is convicted again, there will be chaos in the streets and condemnation of the judicial system implicating the government in the same breath.

2. 2. On the other hand, if he is acquitted, the Judiciary will be given a soft pat in the back and the government will be whacked with maximum ridicule while he comes out of the courthouse to loud cheers and celebrations akin to receiving Gandhi and Mandela together at the same time!

3. 3. Either way, the foreign media will have a field day producing edits to the parts that can do the most damage to the reputation of our police force and Country, just to sell their story and to make investors turn to their countries as preference.

4. 4. It only takes one “twit” to start something and police aggression will be shown on youtube even before the officers reach home for dinner!

Now imagine the number of cameras and resources needed to cover the entire comic show just to prove to the Rakyat later as suggested, that the Police force were well within their jurisdiction and not aggressive in nature while handling the crowd especially the students in participation.

We will have to work triple time in explaining and defending our actions when we’re supposed to go to the ground and explain Najib’s successful transformation plan for the country instead.

Let us cut our losses even before we enter into this shoddy arrangement with the opposition. It doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to realize that allowing the “show” to go on will take its toll on us, politically and economically. We should ban it altogether and remand all the masterminds and leaders of these cell movements organizing the demonstration until after the 9^th and deal with the repercussions head on, which is easier to handle now than later.

SUGGESTIONS IF THE DEMONSTRATION IS PERMITTED

Seek a change of venue to hear the verdict without changing the date if possible. This is because:

1. 1. Monday is a working day and allowing 100,000 people into the fringes of the City will hinder law abiding and economy generating citizens from reaching their place of work on time, slowing down growth for the day and costing the Country millions of Ringgit.

2. 2 Even if only 10 thousand people were to attend the protest, being confined in Jalan Duta will make it believable when the foreign media spins it to say 200 thousand people were in attendance.

3. 3. Having it done at Putrajaya at The Palace of Justice, they’d need more than 300 thousand to make it look reasonably filled. And it will also ease the traffic for responsible citizens on the way to earn their keep in downtown Kuala Lumpur.

USE PSYCHOLOGY AND COMMON SENSE

In general and not necessarily related to the topic above, I urge those who are in the position to give out orders on behalf of the Prime Minister to employ some psychology and a lot of common sense in executing their instructions. Seek counsel from the more intelligent people you are giving instructions to instead of making them shut up and take in the orders without question. This might help to drive the nail straight through with one pound instead of driving it in crooked.

For instance, it was correct to have the interview with Raja Petra Kamaruddin and we scored a lot of important points there, but it would have helped to convince the people more of the truth from him if:

1. 1. He was asked not to look like a cross between Benny Hill and the skipper from Gilligan’s Island talking facts but sounding like a half-pissed lawyer at the Selangor Club back in the 80s. (If President Obama were to wear a jester’s outfit giving out the most important speech, which is The State Of The Union in the House of Congress, do you think he would be taken seriously by anyone?).

2. 2. The interview was NOT done in a Hotel Suite and in Singapore, to which we returned the most wanted man in the City State captured in Johor last year. I leave the rest to your inquisitive imagination.

3. 3. The video published on youtube, with RPK’s consent I presume, could have been better executed instead of appearing like a cheaply produced recording from a hidden camera.

CONCLUSION

If This Is The Kind Of Help That Our Prime Minister Is Getting From His Cabinet And Situational Think-Tanks, Then The BN Political Atmosphere Cries Loud For A Major Reshuffle Putting In The Prime Minister’s New Team, Flushing Out Laggards Including His Cousin And His Nemesis From Johor Heading The Higher Education Ministry Not At All Being Productive And Responsible.

The Elections Can Come Later Within The Realms Of Our Five-Year Tenure Letting The New Team Prove Themselves Appearing As A “Sneak Preview” To The New Leadership Under Najib If He Gets The Full Mandate By The People.

Barring The Hard-Serving Deputy Prime Minister, We Need To Change The Faces From Johor In The New Cabinet. Lethargy And Complacency Has Set In On The Long Serving Ministers And Despite The False Perception Within UMNO, There Are Younger And More Capable Leaders Who Are Willing And Able To Carry The Aspirations And The Momentum Of The Current Prime Minister.

PS: NOTE TO THE PM.

Reshuffle The Cabinet And Hold Off The Elections To A Later Date Sir! Take Back The Home Ministry And Appoint A Feared Deputy Minister To Assist You. You Need People And Groups Who Dare To Do Right, Willing To Tell You The Truth, And Have Common Sense Coupled With Intelligence To Execute A Good Plan With Precision. It Is Time To Get Everyone On The Same Page As You Dato’ Sri. Currently, They Seem To Be Lost And Not Up To Your Speed. We On The Ground Have Tried Everything, Even Swore An Oath To Be True. But Now We Are Waiting For Your Peers To Keep It Solemn.

If This Demonstration Is Allowed, Then We Would Have Played Into The Opposition’s Hand Like Monkeys To Peanuts. It Would Take Us 10 Steps Back After Forging 2 Good Steps Ahead Under Your Fine Initiative With Not Much Time To Play With Before D-Day.

Do you know what it’s like when you’re served with a large buffet spread and don’t know where to begin?

That’s exactly how I felt this past month. There were too many topics to write about which either aroused my emotions or interested me. So instead of writing one article for each, I’ll just skim through some of them with my thoughts.

"SOAL JAWAB" ON TV3 WITH TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMED

Just before the UMNO Assembly, former President Tun Dr Mahathir appeared on TV3’s “Soal Jawab” program and in one segment implied that UMNO members today are in the party to either gain wealth or constantly chasing after contracts. While I concur that, to a good extent to be correct, I would have also appreciated it if Tun qualified his statement by saying that there are still many of us who are in it to serve and have spent personal funds derived from earnings that did not come from government contracts, unlike many of those who’ve amassed their wealth because of their father’s or father-in law’s positions in the Government be it as either Prime Ministers in the past or current advisors to Government owned Fortune 500 Companies and GLCs.

Tun The Icon With His Ex-Protege And His Ex-Protege's Protege "At One Time"

Past UMNO leaders condemning UMNO members for a failed system which they themselves created, is no longer cute to read nor listen to anymore.

If I weren’t serving the multiracial rakyat under UMNO for the last 22 years, I would be driving two Bentleys and an Aston Martin today. And I know for a fact that there are many more like me who still uphold the true values of being a servant to the people under the Party as when it first started.

We shouldn’t condemn the UMNO man at large with silly generalizations egging on the opposition and those on the fence to follow suit. Instead, let us audit the family members of those who have held high positions in the party and government and see if they have benefitted financially through government contracts being related to these personalities. (Ex-UMNO leaders now in the opposition included).

NATIONAL FEEDLOT CENTRE

A classic example on the current is the NFC fiasco. I think the facts have more or less sunk in since it first came out in the Auditor-General’s report. Let me reiterate, it was the A-G, under the transparent Federal Government who highlighted the matter, which was capitalized by the opposition making people think that it was the latter that introduced it.

Tun Has Achieved More Good Than Not For Us, But I Leave This Picture Above For You To Measure The Weight Of It's Good, Or Not.

My question to Tun Dr Mahathir, (whom I still admire for the greater good that he has achieved for Islam, this country and our generation) and many other cynical UMNO observers is, would it have been that easy for an ordinary UMNO member with equal experience to get a soft loan to the tune of RM 250,000,000.00 on a similarly proposed project? In the words of the great gentleman himself “You can wait till the cows come home” (no pun intended), and you still won’t see a sen of it.

What irked me the most was Sharizat Jalil dragging UMNO into it in the beginning, by saying that this was an attack on Wanita UMNO when it had nothing to do with the Wing, nor the Party except for the fact that by coincidence she was also the Wanita Chief besides being the wife of the Chairman (which is now her stance when her back is against the wall), and mother of the executive directors of the company involved.

She would have been more correct had she said that it was an attack on her family since none of the Wanita UMNO members neither sit on the board nor enjoy any of the luxurious perks.

Alas, we shall see the outcome of the thorough investigation and leave it at that. But at this point in time, I say to Prime Minister Najib Razak, if Dato’ Seri Sharizat Jalil is considered a "winnable" candidate in the coming elections, then so is my Norwegian cat at home.

REGRESSIONAL JOURNALISM

And to our ignorant and un-enterprising journalists covering politics, it is not the Cabinet or anyone else who decides the fate of Sharizat as Minister, but the Prime Minister himself. So learn to ask relevant and clever questions to the Deputy Prime Minister and those below him pertaining only to the their respective ministries and power without treating every facet of reporting like a trashy entertainment gossip page, getting information even from the make-up “artist” for things that don’t concern the creature just to look like you are doing your job!

PRINCE COLUMNIST

During the UMNO Assembly, which I would dedicate an exclusive story, on its own another time, there was an article that came out in the Star entitled “Honouring Our Volunteers” by the Negeri Sembilan Prince writer Tunku Zain Al’Abidin who ended his last paragraph with, “ It was obvious that the ones (leeches) in the jungle are not discriminatory in whose blood they suck, unlike those which inhabit the corridors of power, some of whom made it to PWTC this week. “

Then he came back with, “I would like to apologize for the misunderstanding caused by my comment pertaining to leeches at PWTC this week.”

My advice to HRH is, if you make a statement, leave no ambiguity for skewed interpretations and stick by it, or forget about fondling with it in the first place. Making snide remarks on Malay leaders and UMNO members and repeating it in a questionable apology in a Chinese run newspaper while living under the blanket security, privileges, luxury and comforts of which UMNO and its struggle protects and provides, is considered bad form.

Allowing a minor Princling from a Malay Royal Palace acting like a Chinese stooge condemning UMNO members in an MCA owned newspaper also exhibits the latter’s fake interest in wanting to see Barisan Nasional succeed as one unit in the next general election. I see a resemblance in attitude with the DAP using Malay stooges for their purpose in Selangor and previously in Perak.

Ironically, Malays of such character sometimes are picked by UMNO leaders as consultants bypassing their own pool of intellects, presumably for their “bright” thinking, which doesn’t reflect well on the intelligence of the person appointing them.

FIRST MALAY “GAY-MARRIAGE” IN THE WORLD

I must say, this is the first time for me seeing a “fairy” in a Malay warrior’s outfit. It reminds me of a local screen siren Saadiah in one of the classic Malay movies, cross-dressing stabbing her “kris” on the enemy. This Malay homo on the other hand is taking a stab at Islam and the Malays by being united with his boyfriend in a public ceremony that is considered sacrilegious and against Malay Customs.

“To Stab Or Not To Stab.” Who’s Turn Is It Tonight Sunshine?

Again, I would prefer to leave one’s sexual orientation and preferences between one and one’s maker but take umbrage if one parades it to the world mocking God’s religion and the Malay tradition.

If indeed this “unisex” (best to watch out for unisex products like perfume etc. at the stores lest you might end up like this creature) has gone AWOL with his scholarship, then legal effort should be made to bring him to justice instead of sending people to bring him home for counseling incurring further costs to the taxpayers.

UNDUE INFLUENCED JUVENILE & LAPSE OF SECURITY AT THE PWTC

The juvenile behavior of student Adam Adli who was clearly made a lackey by the opposition party by bringing down the flag bearing the PM’s resemblance at the UMNO headquarters, while delivering a memorandum to the government has proven that the body may not be ready to embrace the freedom that they may be given to participate in politics soon enough.

Gross Injustice On Najib. Could This Be The Result Of Giving Too Much Face?

Even if they are ready, Adam has severely tarnished the good effort made by the collective student bodies to achieve their goal, getting the government to compromise.

We shouldn’t penalize the movement, but should drive the full weight of the laws and regulation provided governing the students, on persecuting Adam for his outrageous behavior.

We expect the Minister in charge to deal with the action personally while his Deputy continue to engage with the various student bodies positively and separately.

We also expect the head of security at the PWTC to be taken to task for his officers’ ignorance and “spectatorial” attitude in line of duty. A property of the PWTC was removed and replaced under their watch and nothing was done to accost the perpetrator.

CONCLUSION.

Lately, We Have Many Complaints And See Numerous Shortcomings From Our Half Of The Playing Field. When Will We Ever Account For Them And Take Positive Actions Preventing Similar Outcomes In The Future?

Najib And Muhyiddin Can’t Do Them By Themselves But What They CAN Do Is To Appoint The Right People For The Right Positions!

MY EXPECTATIONS FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

In Him Too, We Trust

In one of the most crucial moments in the history of modern politics for UMNO and the ruling coalition BN, today’s Presidential address in the opening of the UMNO General Assembly must send a strong message to the leaders of the component parties attending the opening.

Traditionally these leaders will attend the first day of the UMNO General Assembly to listen to the keynote address by its President whom by that fact is also Chairman of the Barisan Nasional.

Last Tuesday, 29th November, President Mohd Najib Abdul Razak delivered a heart to heart message to the top cream of the UMNO party in a closed door session, details of which should remain private otherwise defeating the term “closed door” as the members who were camera opportunists should learn.

Suffice to say that some of what was written in my last article was appropriately addressed.

Today’s speech, if not to disappoint the delegates, should be to caution everyone to carry their weight for at this intensed juncture, Barisan Nasional will need a concerted and sincere effort, such that has never been seen before, to preserve our collective political survival.

We cannot afford to take any passengers in this ride because the load is too heavy as it is. If division of labour is not practiced among the coalition members, then we might just scrape through with just the UMNO machinery, and the freeloaders will have to face the consequences, or the UMNO President himself will have to bear the brunt in the UMNO elections right after that, for being soft on them.

This May Be The Last Official Public Address In Any Political Stage Before The Next General Election. What Better Platform Than The General Assembly Of The Most Senior Partner In The Fold With Its Leader Delivering The “Final Testament” To His Disciples Backed By The Full Support Of The Followers Of His Political Religion, UMNO!

In Conclusion:

1. Force the Malaysian Chinese Association, GERAKAN and Malaysian Indian Association to get cracking with their machinery and earn their merit in the party or lose representation in the government.

2. Implore upon the UMNO representatives in both Houses including the State Assemblies who are on their last tour of duty to stand down in loyalty if and when required without sabotaging the party. Impose duress upon their backsides if need be, forcing the Home Minister to earn his keep by reviewing their each and every file!

We Must All Remember That If We Let This Hold Slide, So Too Will This Nation Into An Irreversible Situation Of Economic And Political Oblivion, Under The Inexperienced And Highly Indebted Opposition, Owing Much To The Foreign Powers And Financiers For Their Upkeep.

I Write This At 0435hrs And By 0800hrs, I Will Be In My Seat In The Great Hall Of Independence At The PUTRA In Strong Anticipation Of The Much Awaited And Could Possibly Be The Most Important Speech Ever Delivered By Mohd Najib Abdul Razak To This Nation.

PARTY LOYALTY SHOULD RULE IN THIS UMNO ASSEMBLY

With The Left Hand, Hold This Flag, And With The Right, The Holy Quran. Now Renew Our Loyalty To The Party That Brought Us Salvation And Dignity Or Be Dispatched To Political Damnation!

If UMNO President Najib Razak's speech which was said to have ROCKED the Dewan Merdeka at the PWTC last week in an engagement with the Youth and Young Ladies’ Wings is anything to go by, today's closed door session with the top cream of the party, and the keynote address on Thursday in front of delegates and BN leaders, should be a VOLCANIC ERUPTION raising the level to "ATCON1", referring to "Attack Condition" as opposed to "DEFCON 1", a defense readiness condition and an alert system used by the United States Armed Forces in the Pentagon.

Deputy President Muhyiddin Yassin’s officiating speech at the three Wings’ assembly in the evening should also be equally ballistic if I know this master politician well enough.

Leaks are usually a common trait among UMNO members especially in the last " regime " when seepages were known to have come from some of the Supreme Council members even while the meeting was in progress.

Uncharacteristically, which is a positive development actually, not much of the contents in the address by Najib last week was exposed to outsiders. However, many could feel that it had affected those in attendance, as they have since seemed very highly motivated, almost "kamikaze-like“ I observed. Even my closest comrade in arms who is usually free-flowing with inside information especially over a hearty Arabian meal and a Cuban stick, was tight-lipped and unwavering. Such was Najib's affect on him.

It is quite different with the main body though.

Having attended more than 15 General Assemblies in the past, representing the division proper even while being in the Youth wing, I dare put it to the Nation that this particular UMNO week beginning tomorrow will be the most crucial one considering we have reached the crossroads of our political existence. If we do not change our own attitude towards UMNO, then we will be “ changed “ by our own hands eventually.

At this stage, the Prime Minister who is also the President of UMNO and his team in the government have gone beyond their calling and outdone themselves in the transformations in the economy, government and politics of this nation. The people’s confidence levels have slowly but surely returned to Barisan Nasional albeit not at the level most desired.

At this juncture too, only UMNO members, primarily the currently serving representatives in Parliament and State Assemblies, can lose this Nation for us, not the incoming candidates. I say this because it is a known fact that often, when an ungrateful UMNO candidate is “ retired ” from contesting, he will use whatever resources at his disposal to sabotage the party to show that he should still be the "winning“ candidate despite having served for more than 3 terms.

And in my experience over numerous calls, requests, cries and fear tactics by the former Presidents, the delegates and those concerned would only concur there and then, but their loyalty span wouldn’t last the trip back to their homes after the Assembly is over.

As LOYALTY must be the PARAMOUNT subject in this week’s ensemble, a drastic move should be imposed upon either the top brass of each division or the sitting UMNO representatives in BN at Federal as well as State levels to ensure that their RELIGIOUS CONSCIENCE will prevent them from sadistically indulging in self-sabotage to gain personal gratification.

We have a Minister within the party who is in charge of Religious Affairs whom I was told delivered the “Khutbah” to the Malaysian pilgrims in the Holy Capital of Mecca. That’s good religious and public relations campaign at large. Now let’s exploit him further to drive the fear of God into the Souls of our own members, perhaps in the form of a mass Swearing or Oath-taking ceremony in the presence of Allah, the Soul of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Holy Quran, so that those who betray the Party, Islam and the Malay people on this last stretch towards the coming General Elections, shall be cursed into the dungeons of living hell.

It maybe an outrageous suggestion to some, but as a loyal member of the United Malays National Organization, (perhaps even since I was in my late mother’s womb), I’m willing to be the first to take what I’m dishing out to my fellow members in the Party.

Perhaps the Minister in charge of Religious Affairs can start acting like one, seeking advice from Muftis and the Sultans heading the Islamic Institutions, instead of acting like the General Manager of Tabung Haji in Mecca year in year out, enjoying the spiritual atmosphere there while being oblivious to the damage being done to our religion as well as the moral reputation of this country.

I would not be too surprised either if we see a couple of UMNO Ministers and Supreme Council Members partying and attending these events celebrating their “Independence”. After all, they have been quiet so far. Perhaps they might be considering to “come out of the closet”, so to speak. We shall see if a permit is issued in good time.

Let’s also see if the UMNO backed newspapers will be promoting this farce with daily exposures trying to be hip and accepted by the young and trendy.

20:00 hours sharp tonight, marks exactly 20 years of my union with my loving wife whom I regard as my Patriot of Patriots.

We often refer being patriotic to one’s loyalty to one’s country. I dare say there is not one Soul who would even consider a spouse’s loyalty to be an act of Patriotism.

Politicians must start thinking this way about their wives (the ones who do not meddle in the Affairs of the State) without taking their sacrifices for granted. This is because their unselfish act of sharing us with the mass in terms of time and attention is all done in the name of King & Country.

Ever since I knelt down to propose to my better half on one knee, while a string quartet was playing by our table, where she said “ yes “ after a split second pause, which felt like a million years almost giving me a cardiac on the floor of the French Restaurant, my life has been blessed.

In the absence of my parents, she flew to me for my graduation, which very much inspired me to complete my degree program on time! She gave me three beautiful children two of whom (twin boys) were born on my birthday, disqualifying me from expecting a birthday present from her for the rest of my life.

I’m blessed because she has both beauty and brains, independent and comfortable with people from all walks of life and loyally supportive of my passion which is politics allowing me to serve without interruption or intrusion.

First Of All The Patriot Would Like To Extend Our Most Heartfelt Condolences To The Family Of The Late Noramfaizul Mohd Nor, The BERNAMA Cameraman Who Was Fatally Shot While On Duty Covering The Situation In Somalia. May His Soul Rest In Peace Amongst The Righteous. Al-Fatiha.

I’m sure this article would be considered as bad form coming out at this moment but it’s about time people take responsibility instead of letting all blame fly loose and carelessly aimed at the wrong party turning it into something political.

There was nothing wrong with the joint noble effort of Putera 1Malaysia Club, Bakti and other agencies, coming together to provide humanitarian aide to survivors of a cursed nation.

Having said that, it shouldn’t take a nuclear physicist to comprehend the gravity of the situation on the ground of the country that they were visiting. I’m not speaking on hindsight as this was touched in one of my articles last year regarding the preparedness of our journalists in the expected deadly raid on a Turkish-led Flotilla that tried to break Isreal's blockade of Gaza. I would have thought we LEARNT SOMETHING from it.

Journalists should be well protected while they go to war torn zones to cover their stories and the responsibility lies upon the shoulders of their respective agencies to equip them with the proper tools be it for protection or even mental preparedness. Neither the Government nor the Putera 1Malaysia Club should have to be on the defensive receiving “shellings” from all parties not knowing who to blame but rightfully needing to scream at someone for this stupid blunder of not learning from the past.

BERNAMA and all news agencies should be responsible for their own personnel in terms of safety precautions and not expect to be spoon-fed by those providing them with the opportunity to report news of the world to those back home.

These agencies have their own Chairman, CEOs, Managing Editors and so forth drawing handsome incomes. They should have brains enough to think, plan and execute. Certainly they don’t need the Prime Minister nor his Deputy to tell them what to purchase and suit their reporters with when covering stories.

BERNAMA is so lame that we had to flip through ASTRO AWANI and other channels to get current news of their own (BERNAMA) slained cameraman! What happened to their other reporters on the ground who were supposed to report from the other end of the camera? Were they not sufficiently equipped with the best and up do date technology to keep reporting? Were they not resourceful enough to borrow from their counterparts like the CNN correspondent who borrowed from a Chinese national journalist when his mobile cell went dead to report live via audio locked down in a hotel in Tripoli? Were they so ill-prepared that they were too distraught to work while trying hard to remember how the deceased behaved the days leading to his death, like all Malays do when faced with this situation? Is that professional reporting? They should be ashamed to be called the National News Agency!!!

In the same breath, I implore all politicians, who are generally not media savvy to refrain from being trigger-happy making stupid comments on the matter. Rightfully so, even in situations where Kevlar vests are employed, people do sometimes get killed but that doesn’t one bit justify any party from being careless. If that is the case, then we shouldn’t make it mandatory for riders of motorbikes to wear helmets or car passengers to fasten seat belts, because despite the helmets and the latter, the mortality rates remain high. I wonder if Shabery Cheek is on hand once again to provide the PM with these statistics trying to justify an ailing cause.

Precautionary measures MUST be taken to minimize the risk. Then, we leave the rest to God. It’s COMMON SENSE! We don’t leave the camel untied and leave it to God to be its keeper, calling it fate.

The National Union of Journalists should take this matter up including having their members insured no matter how costly it may be for those covering high-risk zones.

The standard of journalism needs to be lifted in this country, especially amongst the Malay run agencies. At the same time, the welfare and safety of personnel in this field should be addressed accordingly.

The Prime Minister Should Revamp BERNAMA And Other Related Agencies Under Us Which Do Not Live Up With The Times And Lack Professionalism. He Should Remove Those Tan Sris and Dato’s Earning Maximum Wage For Minimum Work With No Foresight. This Is Not About Carrying Out The Government’s Aspirations. It Is About Professional And Dynamic Journalism.

Amanah, Penawar Throw Spanner In The Works

Of late, we have seen the mushrooming of non-governmental organisations serving the purpose of some aging politicians. And I have been asked why I don’t align myself to one.

I don’t see a need to join these new political NGOs as I am already in one of the best avenues to champion my political cause, which is Umno.

Furthermore, I had formed a small political think tank under the name of The Patriot Foundation, which serves to provide necessary feedback to the Government and Malaysians on basic social, political and economic issues through open channels.

While I welcome the formation of these NGOs, I question the motives behind it.

Angkatan Amanah Merdeka (Amanah), for example, may begin with noble intentions and having a blueblood like Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah to spearhead it adds to its nobility.

I've often been excited whenever this elder statesman appears for one thing or another and had looked forward to see what Amanah is set out to do.

Furthermore, Amanah in Arabic means trust and as leaders, I believe they should live up to the word.

Amanah said it wants to “re-ignite our beloved Bapa Malaysia’s legacy, promise and ideals” and nurture unity as espoused by the country’s founding fathers.

Those invited to share the limelight with him may have passed their twilight years in politics but are still influential to an extent, but there are those in there who want to stay relevant for their own personal interests. The “has beens” are trying to cling onto whatever is left of the limelight afforded to them by the media.

Now, having six deputy presidents is unique but it’s when everyone speaks their minds without any consultation within the group that things can get destructive. One has to exercise care when making statements, either in their personal capacity or for the group, as this can turn Amanah into a nuisance and further add to confusing the minds of the rakyat.

One of its six deputy presidents Tan Sri Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, for example, was reported to have commented about the elections, saying that it was unfair. Least he forgot, his own brother contested and lost the Kulim Parliamentary seat to one Zulkifli Nordin from the Opposition. Had not the loss of five states in the last general election shown that it was fair?

Then I read about another organization called Penawar, whose members comprised former Umno Members of Parliament. Now, this group is requesting Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Razak to step down for reasons only known to them.

What they forgot is that being called “former”, they no longer have representation nor constituencies. I see this as another case of “has-beens” trying to remain relevant and being destructive to the party that they claim they love.

What is paramount at this time is not about internal party politics but about winning for the party at the next general elections.

This ailment in Umno is becoming prevalent to the extent that loyalty to certain leaders supersede loyalty to the party, especially among people of less importance who try to move as a credible unit.

The country is now moving forward.

Umno and BN are fast gaining lost ground from 2008 with the formidable partnership of Najib and his deputy Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

BN cannot afford a rift from within especially among Umno leaders because the entire BN existence and strength is clinging on the Umno foundation.

At this point in time, the top two leaders should discount useless, self-interested and irresponsible parties from stacking them against each other to, first and foremost, win the two-thirds majority in Parliament.

Following this, if indeed there is a cause to change the leadership due to possible liabilities that may cause future damage to the party and nation, then one should like a true gentleman throw down the gauntlet and contest according to the Umno Constitution. No one should get others to do their private biddings while pretending to be cordial on the front, if such a scenario even exists.

Umno will welcome a democratic approach, which the delegates waived their rights for in the previous Constitutional Amendments meeting, according to the rules and regulations stipulated in the Constitution.

But we cannot afford an implosion before the next general election or we will lose this nation.

Responsibility begins with the leaders.

One cannot rule, when one divides prematurely, at the wrong time and within our own.

I attended a friendly match between Malaysia with a Barclays’ Premier League team for the first time ever last Saturday with close friends at Bukit Jalil. I picked the game against Liverpool because I thought between the three visiting English teams which came to Malaysia, this was the team that we had the best chance of scoring against. I was right. We were entertained with 9 goals in between them.

Perhaps more than the match itself, I was looking forward to the beginning of the event hoping to hear the MC declare, “Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the national anthem”, then experience the 70,000 packed Stadium gyrate with the singing of the Negaraku. I was totally flabbergasted when it didn’t happen. On the contrary, the Liverpool anthem was played over and over again with Malaysians from all walks of life in their proud red shirts singing at the top of their lungs in loyalty.

First I asked who’s jurisdiction it was under, whether the FAM or Stadium Board. I was told that it was under the FAM’s purview.

We can understand why the Great Britain’s national anthem didn’t have to be observed as Liverpool and other clubs visiting us were not representing England. What people especially the FAM should realize is that the Negaraku was not to be played to represent the National team playing in the friendly match, but it must be played because the game was held on Malaysian soil and should be observed by everyone in attendance at the beginning of any sports event. The game could have been played by Bangladesh and Nepal for all I care but it is Paramount that the Negaraku be played at the beginning.

Will the FAM take responsibility on this matter or remain stubborn stemming on technicalities?

The Malaysian government advocating 1Malaysia should take notice that we FAILED to take advantage to unite the Malaysians in patriotism under our anthem when there were 70,000 spectators under one roof! They were patriotic nonetheless but it would have raised the bar a little higher having willing citizens sing the national anthem in arms. I was told it was not done at the Arsenal match either! If the FAM officials were ignorant, is there not a sports ministry representative on the board to provide counsel on the matters of the nation and the government’s pure agenda?

Where there is lack of Patriotism that is when we pleasure the malicious aliens in destroying the fabric of our Nation. Patriot(ism) is not what is printed on our red shirts to illegally counter another illegal march! It must be instilled in the citizens whom I’m sure were more than proud to sing the Negaraku despite being in their Liverpool shirts, but they were never given a chance! Instead, the overzealous MC in the commentary box encouraged the spectators further to butter-up the visiting English team, (general trait of local traitors favouring Colonialist in the history of this nation) by playing their club anthem no less than 8 times throughout the afternoon.

The government shouldn’t blame the Rakyat when they appear less patriotic like on July 9th! We should blame ourselves for our lack of awareness and taking things for granted.

The following is the Official Statement of His Majesty The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin issued by the Istana Negara in its originality:

"Beta sedang mengikuti dengan teliti akan perkembangan cadangan kumpulan BERSIH untuk mengadakan perarakan dan perhimpunan beramai-ramai yang bertujuan menyerahkan memorandum kepada beta selaku Yang di-Pertuan Agong dan bagaimana pihak kerajaan menangani isu ini khususnya agensi-agensi dan jabatan-jabatan yang terbabit.

Namun, beta yakin kepemimpinan negara di bawah Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak berkemampuan untuk menangani masalah ini dengan sebaik mungkin.

Beta menyeru di dalam keghairahan sebahagian rakyat berpolitik bagi menyuburkan demokrasi dalam negara kita ini hendaklah dipastikan juga bahawa tuntutan demokrasi tidak akan membawa kemusnahan kepada negara.

"I am following closely the developments of the proposed gathering and procession by Bersih with the aim of handing over a memorandum to me as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and how the Government, particularly the agencies and departments concerned, is handling the issue.

However, I believe that the nation's leadership under Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Razak is capable of handling this problem in the best possible way.

I urge that amid the political fervour of a section of the people to bolster democracy in our country, it must also be ensured that this demand on democracy does not bring destruction to the country.

Generally, we cannot be following too much the practices in other countries, as harmony and stability are vital foundations for a country and which all quarters must protect.

I also urge the Government to carry out everything that is entrusted to it by the people in a just and wise manner, and it is important that I, as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, do not want to see this country with a plural society in a situation where there is animosity among them or a section of the people being enemies with the Government, on whatever grounds.

When any problem arises, we as a civilised society must resolve it through consultations and not follow our emotions, as the Malay saying goes Yang dikejar tak dapat yang dikendong berciciran (Not getting what we chase for and spilling what we carry).

The fact is, street demonstrations bring more bad than good although the original intention is good. Instead, we should focus on our main objective to develop this country, and not create problems that will cause the country to lag behind.

Remember that there is no land where the rain does not fall, there is no ocean that is not turbulent. That is how important moderation and compromise is, which has been long in practice by our nation's administration.”

SAVE THE COUNTRY

The PATRIOT Foundation is deeply concerned with the recent developments with regards to the illegal Bersih 2.0 rally, which will take place on July 9 on the streets of Kuala Lumpur.

Bersih 2.0 organisers had also announced that simultaneous demonstrations will be held at 2pm local time on July 9 in London, Canberra and Sydney as well as Taiwan.

Two other groups namely Perkasa and Pemuda UMNO have also announced that their members would also take to the streets against Bersih 2.0.

The PATRIOT Foundation is therefore calling for:

1. A ban on all three rallies by Bersih/Perkasa/Pemuda UMNO.

The organisers' efforts to bring issues to the streets can be likened as sabotaging the Nation as whatever happens on that day will tarnish Malaysia's image as a fast developing peaceful nation. They are rebels using several outfits as a front. There are proper channels for grouses and grievance to be aired. Holding a rally or several rallies is certainly not an option.

2. Use preventive laws.

It is unfortunate that earlier warnings issued by Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein have gone unheeded. The ministry should therefore no longer hesitate to take preventive measures on the organisers. Any action on the day of the event or after would be futile as the repercussions would already have far-reaching consequences especially on the economy of the country.

3. Negative reporting on the country.

Past experiences of illegal rallies in the country had shown the negative impact on the country's reputation as a politically stable and safe destination. International media reporting on the day itself and those so called independent news portals will do the most damage to the country. Turmoil sells in their trade. Giving factual and direct account is secondary.

4. Organizers should face the music.

All the organisers - be it Bersih 2.0, Perkasa and Pemuda UMNO - must be charged for instigating members to gather illegally. They must be banned from leaving the country before or after the event. The Bersih organizers for instance must not be allowed to leave the country for possible exile to avoid prosecution. In another example, Pemuda UMNO chief YB Khairy Jamaluddin, should be asked to return to be alongside his soldiers instead of fighting for another cause beyond our shores. A responsible General is one who initiates a war and stands by his command.

5. Malaysians to save the country.

Each and every one of us who call ourselves Malaysian should reject and stop all attempts to create chaos on any streets in the country or elsewhere.

We are all peace-loving people who want the country to prosper and continue to develop to meet Vision 2020.

Many interesting things have happened lately and although I have the strong urge to write about my recent trip to New York and Washington, I think one needs to be written touching on the indecisive Home Minister on an impending mass rally that if it is allowed will encourage more rallies that will disrupt our tourism and retail industry

Dato’ Sri Najib has been doing a fine job travelling around the world raising Malaysia’s profile among the world business community and luring foreign investments to our shores seeing quick results.

At home, locals mostly the affluent and rich organizers of Bersih are using the majority of the less educated and low income earning mass to flood the streets to cause nuisance and serve the political purpose of the opposition.

What has the Home Minister got to say?

The Star Online quoted the “much feared” Minister as saying the police would handle the issue so as to avoid any quarters from accusing him of political involvement in the matter.

After having said that and the announcement of the Deputy Inspector General of Police, the Bersih movement still intends to continue with their event inviting retaliatory measures and inflammatory remarks by more than 30 other Malay NGOs, which could spell total calamity and chaos in the Capital.

And all the Home Minister can say is “I leave it to the police to act professionally and in accordance with the law,” thinking it will indemnify him from any responsibility if anything untoward were to happen.

Because there is a lack of assertiveness from the Home Minister, instead of parties backing off, we see others even within the ruling party like UMNO Youth getting into the fray disrespecting the warning of the former who is also a Vice President of UMNO.

What The Youth Movement should do instead as a pressure group is to COMPEL the Minister in charge of Internal Security to be more FORCEFUL and RESPONSIBLE instead of joining in to encourage others to undermine the nation’s peace and public order. All it takes is one verbal abuse coupled with emotions not having the benefit of intellect and all Hell will break loose.

I am the last person who’d want to tell the gentleman Minister how to do his job but maintaining law and order and National Security isn’t like dashing ingredients in the kitchen wok on a trial and error basis until the dish becomes a cuisine.

National income from tourism and foreign investments through the hard promotional tours of the good Prime Minister and his Deputy Muhyiddin Yassin are at stake if preventive measures are not taken and animosity is allowed to spill onto the streets. “Two wrongs don’t make a right”, neither does a third wrong if the Home Minister chooses to remain neutral and irresponsible.

We already know the culprits behind this impure endeavor under the pretext of demanding for clean elections! Special branch reports by various intelligence bureaus should be flooding in to allow the Minister to make the necessary decisions without even flinching. Pull them in and if any of them are adamant in going through with it, then take stern action in accordance to whatever the law provides. If the Minister is afraid to take action, which is in the best interest of the majority (the 418 odd police reports by business operators and tourists associations should be enough to bring courage to him to make the right move), then he should step aside and let a real man do the job!

Two of the many provisions are:

‘If the Minister is satisfied that the detention of any person is necessary with a view to preventing him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the security of Malaysia or any part thereof or to the maintenance of essential services therein or to the economic life thereof, he may make an order (hereinafter referred to as a detention order) directing that that person be detained for any period not exceeding two years’. (s 8(1) Internal Security Act 1960)

And

‘If the Minister is satisfied that with a view to preventing any person from acting in any manner prejudicial to public order it isnecessary that that person should be detained, or that it is necessary for the suppression of violence or the prevention of crimes involving violence that that person should be detained, the Minister shall make an order (hereinafter referred to as a ‘detention order’) directing that that person be detained for a period not exceeding two years’. (s 4(1) Emergency (Public Order And Prevention of Crime) Ordinance 1969).

Much money has been spent to promote Malaysia abroad and our best selling points to lure foreign investors here is our peace, political stability and friendly business environment.

The Forbes Brothers Surrounding The Prime Minister

Forbes Incorporated recently described Malaysia as the “center of the world”. Forbes will be bringing the World C.E.O. Conference to Kuala Lumpur in September. A number of Presidents and VPs of international conglomerates lined up to meet the Prime Minister in New York and at least one renowned mobile manufacturer have intentions to pick Malaysia as its Asian headquarters bypassing China and India, while the others already have a strong presence in Malaysia and are currently acting as our “ambassadors” in the world corporate scene by promoting our country with their counterparts abroad.

When National and Economic Security is at stake, it is not the time to be popular or fear to lose future election votes but to maintain the good run this country is having. This hard call must be for Malaysia, not for the elections. Make the right decision for the benefit of the mass and let the chips fall where they may. We must trust the judgment of the majority who will eventually see the righteous path of our actions.

If we act cowardly and become indecisive, or make the right decision at the wrong time, we will not only lose more seats in the elections, but also the economy and foreign confidence in our state of affairs.

ALARM BELLS FOR FEDERAL CHINESE LEADERS!

Alarm Bell With A Noose Around The Neck For MCA And Gerakan?

Results in the recent Sarawak elections unraveled the real truth about the Chinese community’s support for their own leaders in Barisan Nasional. The benefit of the doubt can no longer be given to them through allocations paid or promises made in advance.

The principled MCA President Dr. Chua Soi Lek has amplified this notification and raised the stakes up by indirectly throwing a challenge to his peers in the Peninsula when he advised the SUPP leaders in Sarawak to reject invitations to join the State Cabinet for their failure to draw Chinese approval for BN.

Having the second highest position in the government also didn’t guarantee Chinese support as proven in the loss of Tan Sri Dr George Chan in Miri while being the incumbent Deputy Chief Minister of Sarawak. Being a minority while having that position evidently means nothing to this community.

Dr Chan’s outcome has straight in the face, negated MCA and GERAKAN’s former theory that a Second Deputy Prime Minister’s position for the community will lure their people to the fold.

Prime Minister Najib now can hold Chua Soi Lek by his word which he can impose on the GERAKAN leaders as well. Bring the numbers in, or suffer a reduction in their Cabinet representation. In this scenario, great service can still be rendered to the Chinese community through either Malay or Indian hands truly proving that 1Malaysia is alive and healthy. In fact, it could be more affective since the community at this point clearly rejects MCA and GERAKAN but are slowly warming up to Najib’s style of leadership and the government who cares and shares.

Prime Minister Najib and his Deputy Muhyiddin worked hard to pull through the 2/ 3 majority for BN. UMNO has their work cut out too and beside the top two brass in the Malay party who were deeply concentrated in Sarawak (Dato’ Sri Najib couldn’t even tear himself away from the Rakyat there to pay his last respects at his late aunt’s funeral), the rest must remain silent as to Taib Mahmud’s tenure as Chief Minister because no matter what we have to say, his own party Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu wiped the floor by winning all 35 of the seats contested. Let’s see if UMNO can match that feat winning all or even 85% of the seats we’ll be contesting in the coming general elections. Only then can we stand tall and big in the eyes of our peers.

Sarawak has upped the ante for us all at the federal stage! Every party is challenged at their individual level and has a role to play with a target to achieve, but the onus is on Dr Chua Soi Lek and other Chinese leaders to bring back the numbers for the team. It is important to now work together and ensure that we pull our weights and move forward as 1BN.

The rest can be sorted out with great satisfaction for the Government and People of this great Nation if we achieve our goal giving Dato Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, more than a comfortable two-thirds majority in Parliament.

I Have Always Advocated That The Party Comes First While The Leader Is Less Significant. But In The Case Where The Rakyat Has More Confidence In The Dynamic Leader Himself To Change And Improve On The Average Brass He Inherited From A Weak Predecessor, Then I Have To Make An Exception And Say:

"PROSTITUTE" BLOGGERS ARE TRAITORS TO THE NATION!.

It is often said that, “The pen is mightier than the sword”. A pen for hire is often likened with the profession of an Assassin. But the former is worse than the latter because even assassins have a code which they honour. Once they take on a job, they cannot be out-bought by the target. If they do, a contract will be put on their heads, and with the scarce skill of the profession out there in the market, the less players left on the field, the higher the fees, making it a pleasure for their peers to have them “expired”.

As for bloggers, there are thousands out there, and their skills and intentions are widespread. But if one has a large following, one can either be a responsible and informative writer, an assassin, or a prostitute wordsmith, which is a traitor to the reading people when it corrupts their thoughts on a rightful matter.

One such example is the fugitive blogger who appeared on national television recently trying to exonerate him self from blemishing the current Prime Minister’s image when the latter was the Deputy Prime Minister. He admitted that the general intention behind declaring his statute was to “block Najib from succeeding Pak Lah”.

He may not have published nor said anything directly related to the Prime Minister or his wife, but the fact that the controversial/famous to some/infamous to others Raja Petra Kamaruddin (RPK) made a statutory declaration, on allegations by others made against the former, was good enough to imply that they were guilty as accused. Confusing enough? Yes, that was the general idea so that he can weave his way out of this and blame the others. What’s the point when the damage is already done?

Any similarity in looks as well as character?

The majority of RPK’s supporters may be birdbrains but others who are weary of him know that this is a desperate attempt by him to take his “head out of his own buttocks”.

Fact of the matter is, RPK had a large reader-base numbering in the tens of thousands if not more. He knew the influence he wielded especially after the publicity stunts that led him to his “vacation” in the Kemunting resort.

All he had to do was imply, and the majority would have taken it as gospel. Appearing innocent and trying to use technicalities to spin himself out of a web is a double-whammy for the people who believed in him. Firstly, he misled them with his actions. Secondly, he insults them further by trying to say that he was wrongly read!

We have a duty to the Nation. We shouldn’t be sensationalizing half-truths to become popular at the expense of paralyzing the nation in progress. I may sound dramatic but when the good name of a promising leader and his wife could be involved in a homicide, it slows down the Nation when the innocent party and the government (because of the office that he holds) have to be on the defensive. As readers ladies and gentlemen, reflect on how you would feel when you’re led to believe all that, only to be told later by the same culprit who led you, that he now doesn’t believe it to be true! Don’t you feel like a betrayed sucker?

When the Rakyat is betrayed, it constitutes treason in my book and such a person should be called a traitor for bringing our country’s reputation down a few notches because of the implications, that later spun into accusations abroad.

What interests me most is to know who took him out of the country, and how it was done considering he was a wanted man. They too, must be taken to task.

The next question in my mind is, was he paid to create the negative implication at that time towards Najib and Rosmah? If he was, then his status as fugitive can be upgraded (or downgraded) however you may view it, to “prostitute blogger" who brings gratification to his paying client.

Names Were Mentioned To Influence His Decision, Surveillance Should Be Administered And Some Action Taken On These Individuals If Their Movements Prove To Be Consistent To The Allegations Of Their Involvement. Learn From Our Neighbours Down South. Traitors Should Not Be Allowed To Roam Freely Misleading The Rakyat And Causing Problems To The State, Weather Implicitly Or Explicitly.

BN ON A WINNING MOMENTUM

AFTER every by-election, the temperature on the political thermometer goes up a notch for Barisan Nasional. This is especially so in the last eight by-elections where the coalition party won seven -- five with increased majority, two wrested from the opposition and one lost.

The mercury is slowly rising.Some political observers said this augurs well for Datuk Seri Najib Razak to seek a fresh mandate from the rakyat, his own after he was sworn in as prime minister two years ago this April, especially after Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud delivers a handsome win of the state election on April 16.

The infighting within the opposition also lends support to this conviction. The prime minister has been laying down the groundwork to, among others, restore the confidence of the majority of the voting rakyat and the foreign investors.

The string of back-to-back by-election victories showed that most Malays and Indians have returned to the fold, with a slight increase in Chinese approval. This was not so much because of BN or even of their own leaders in the coalition but more on the promising quality and sincerity of Najib's leadership and economic acumen.

The foreign investors have also put Malaysia back on their radar. Last year alone, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (Mida) approved investments in the manufacturing sector totalling RM47.2 billion. The ringgit has increased in value by 44 points from RM3.52 to RM3.08 against the greenback, the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index has risen from 966 to 1,521 points, and the equity market capitalisation has increased by RM221 billion.

All these are the positive outcomes of Najib's economic policies and personal supervision. First, there was the stimulus packages to the tune of RM60 billion, introduced in the first quarter of 2009, which saw the economic environment positively enhanced, especially in the construction sector.

Then came the New Economic Model (NEM), meant to transform Malaysia into a high income country by increasing productivity and investments from abroad by the year 2020. There was also the economic liberalisation measures, which lowered the minimum quota for Malay ownership in traded companies in various sectors from 30 per cent to 12.5 per cent.

It also allowed foreign investors to maintain majority holdings in most ventures, with the exception of utility firms and banks. In addition, government subsidies were reformed to better serve only the deserving instead of spreading it across the board and benefiting even the wealthy.

Those which were revised were primarily for sugar and fuel. The revision was two-pronged; one, to promote a healthy lifestyle for the rakyat and the other, targeting financial assistance to the rightful beneficiaries to government aid. Although the reforms save the government approximately RM1 billion, it is still spending RM8 billion annually subsidising the rakyat.

The government also reached out to the young by announcing a housing scheme for fresh graduates. It enables those earning less than RM3,000 a month to obtain a 100 per cent loan from certain financial institutions for houses ranging between RM100,000 to RM220,000 over 30 years.

Furthermore, in appreciation for the loyal service of civil servants, free medical facilities at government hospitals are provided for those who retire under the Employees Provident Fund scheme and their dependents.

Najib also announced a full gratuity payment for those opting for early retirement under the same scheme. Last Sunday, he shared with the rakyat the first annual report of the Government Transformation Programme he introduced last year to enhance the performance of the government machinery. His ministers, their ministries and the civil service were introduced to the National Key Result Areas (NKRAs) and Key Performance Indicators.

In the first annual report, Najib said the GTP "had ignited a new passion and enthusiasm among many civil servants as well as challenged others to realise their full potential and responsibility to the rakyat". He was proud of his "product", saying that it delivered many positive outcomes. "The GTP has registered many 'firsts' that have directly or indirectly, enhanced the lives of millions. We have broken new ground and are on the verge of greater accomplishments. However, we are also mindful that we should not declare victory before achieving our goal of becoming a developed country and as such, will strive to set higher goals for ourselves moving forward. "I am positive that through the GTP roadmap, the NKRAs, the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) which has at its core the National Key Economic Activities (NKEAs) to drive economic growth and the Strategic Reform Initiatives (SRIs) to enable growth, as well as a host of other initiatives, we will be on track to achieve the aspirations of Vision 2020. The journey forward will undoubtedly be challenging, perhaps even more so than the last one year, but we are up to the task - ready and willing to champion the cause of bringing tangible and positive outcomes to the rakyat," he had said in the annual report launched last Sunday.

The positive political and economic environment augurs well for us but it needs to be sustained for the country to prosper and grow to greater heights. We are in a position to help our leaders get the fresh mandate they need to follow through the progress thus far.

Those in BN, especially the local Umno leaders in the opposition states of Selangor and the three other states should shake off their arrogance, roll up their sleeves and work with one another to complement the exceptional work by the federal leaders and return these states to the BN fold.

We must certainly work hard and right for this to happen as the rakyat deserves only the best.

The Carcosa Brief

When the local Three Stooges, Dato’ Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, Tan Sri Rahim Thamby Chik, and Dato’ Shuib Lazim, better known as “Datuk T” held a lewd video show in one of the most prestigious establishments in town last week, my partner and I received many phone calls wondering if we’ve seen it or have a copy of the same. What disgusted me most was why everyone was so interested to see Anwar Ibrahim’s penis on video.

Questions we should ask:

1. Why was Eskay in the news so quickly after his case was heard in court regarding his allegedly unpaid RM20 Million commission on the Crooked Bridge from Dato’ Yahya Jalil?

2. What was the bone that he wanted to pick with Anwar Ibrahim who was Finance Minister then?

3. Did Anwar promise to be one of his witnesses in the hearing but didn’t show up?

4. Did he discover that Yahya had allegedly paid some of his commission to Anwar instead?

5. How did he have a copy of the video?

6. How did he know the hooker was a Chinese national?

7. Was he the pimp supplying fannies to Anwar?

All of these queries may be of some or little interest to many, but the Mother of all questions is, “What the Hell was Rahim Thamby Chik doing there taking centre stage?” The next important question is why Shuib Lazim who is a former UMNO division chief and current father-in-law of Minister Shafie Afdal, also sitting there like a cheap passenger while denting the image of his son-in-law and the party that he represents.

The first impression would be that UMNO is behind this. Next is that Prime Minister Najib must have endorsed it.

But the fact of the matter as related to the media by one Mohamad Mahti Abdul Rahim who was Eskay’s witness who turned hostile in the Crooked Bridge case, is that Eskay wanted to do Anwar in because according to the former, the latter “stole” money from him. This is a matter between two very close associates; so close that one can return to the pit just to retrieve a watch that was allegedly in the possession of the Chinese prostitute.

Datuk “T” for Three Stooges

Once again we ask, “What the Hell is Rahim Thamby Chik doing in this equation?”

Answer: He is an attention seeker who is trying to justify his faded existence in mainstream politics perhaps also trying to exact revenge on Anwar for his “crucifixion” by the latter when he was the most powerful Deputy Prime Minister while the former was the Malacca Chief Minister.

Many people including Eskay and Rahim may say or act like they are helping the Prime Minster, but assisting him to the possible dungeons of hell doesn’t constitute help. It was never warranted neither was it solicited by Sri Perdana.

Dato’ Sri Najib Razak and his flagship are sailing smoothly and fast. They didn’t need a turbine to further propel them to their destination, let alone a used and bashed up engine in the form of these questionable characters with motives of their own.

These three people deserve to be in the same cell as the man they are trying to persecute. The law has been broken and according to the Minister in charge, no immunity is given for these clowns under The Whistleblower Protection Act 2010.

The full brunt of the law should be hammered onto their heads to fully exonerate the Government and the Prime Minister’s good name from this act of the most despicable kind.

THE RIGHT AND WRONG OF JOHN R. MALLOT IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Ambassador John R. Mallot served in Kuala Lumpur for three years in the 90’s when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed was Prime Minister. I believe, because of Dr Mahathir’s strong stand against hypocrite western governments, Mallot took umbrage and began his gradual attacks on the Malaysian Government. Here are some of my responses (numbered and in white letters) to his article in the Wall Street Journal of 8 February 2011. I must bring to the attention of the readers that these are my personal opinion whether right or wrong which may not represent the official views or stand of UMNO nor the good Prime Minister of Malaysia. Mallot’s original article is in yellow.

Mallot (extreme left), Former US Ambassador Or Current Ambassador For Pakatan?

Malaysia's national tourism agency promotes the country as "a bubbling, bustling melting pot of races and religions where Malays, Indians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups live together in peace and harmony." Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak echoed this view when he announced his government's theme, One Malaysia. "What makes Malaysia unique," Mr. Najib said, "is the diversity of our peoples. One Malaysia's goal is to preserve and enhance this unity in diversity, which has always been our strength and remains our best hope for the future."
If Mr. Najib is serious about achieving that goal, a long look in the mirror might be in order first. Despite the government's new catchphrase, racial and religious tensions are higher today than when Mr. Najib took office in 2009. Indeed, they are worse than at any time since 1969, when at least 200 people died in racial clashes between the majority Malay and minority Chinese communities. The recent deterioration is due to the troubling fact that the country's leadership is tolerating, and in some cases provoking, ethnic factionalism through words and actions.

WRONG!

1. Ambassador Mallot needs to be educated in the history behind the event in 1969 which led to several deaths, some of which though regretful, were nonetheless necessary in keeping with the original intentions and self-respect of a young, multi-racial country. In the 1969 elections, the DAP and another predominantly Chinese party made huge gains, but not quite the majority to govern. They obtained a permit to hold celebrations. Thousands of Chinese marched through the streets of Kuala Lumpur but diverted from their actual route into Malay dominated areas ridiculing and hurling vulgar insults at them. In another area, it was said that a Malay motorist was forced to help re-board pigs (an animal that’s taboo to Muslims and local Malays) that were overthrown from a truck for allegedly being the cause of an accident by the Chinese folks in the area. In another state, a Malay couple were slaughtered by the Chinese coming out of a cinema. Seeing the true and arrogant character of these Orientals when they seemed to be at an advantage over the rest, the Malay leaders had to take affirmative action to ensure that they know their place in this country showing mutual respect unlike in America where Caucasions like Mr Mallot cowardly force themselves to stand down when they are being insulted and called “white boy” by the Negros and in turn, don’t even dare to inversely call the latter by a name that reflects the colour of their skin.

2. For certain, the current situation in this blessed country reflects nothing of the kind that Mr Mallot tries to present to the Wall Street Journal reading world.

RIGHT

3. There is some truth is his contention that the leadership under Najib Razak is tolerating racial overtures, but only in the beginning. This is because there was some damage control that needed to be administered within the coalition after the disastrous and incompetent handling of the government by the Prime Minister before him who was unable to control the Indian and Chinese allies within the BN. They were being too comfortable shooting their mouths off to the extent of condemning their senior partner UMNO and the Malay agenda in public.

RIGHT

4. Indeed, the government failed before Najib’s tenure as Prime Minister because of the substandard leadership of the various parties within the Barisan Nasional Coalition (BN) representing their own communities, and of course the “ No-standard” leadership qualities of his predecessor Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. The Chinese and Indian leaders within the Coalition were given too much freedom in leading their own people that they forgot how to serve while becoming megalomaniacs behaving like they themselves were on equal standing wielding the same powers as the Prime Minister.

5. These leaders used BN to gain more power for themselves in their respective parties instead of using their parties to improve BN’s standing among the people. Then they extorted BN under the UMNO leadership and slept with the opposition in public statements as well as actions which proved politically fatal for the Presidents of MCA and MIC. Even the GERAKAN President and his party are put in their place by Najib after they barked across racial lines for attention while irresponsibly losing the whole State of Penang. Seriously speaking, at the rate things are going for DAP there, it will take another two elections at least before Penangites can forget GERAKAN’s lousy administration.

6. The problems never lied on the ethnic Chinese nor Indian people of Malaysia. They rested on the heads of their leaders who betrayed their own people for personal power, wealth, fame and glory which cost the BN Government dearly. The Malays are not their enemy. Their own leaders are.

REMEDY

7. Under Najib Razak’s 1 Malaysia, the ethnic political leaders and their positions will be of little significance to Barisan Nasional because Najib and UMNO will be serving all races directly without having to tolerate the monkey business and antics of other party leaders as shown in the numerous by-elections recently. Under this system which serves all, they will be compelled to swim with Najib because without him, it will be with definite certainty that they will sink to the depths of oblivion. This establishment is rising fast in popularity based on its good work and fine people skills; mooted, advocated and practiced by the Prime Minister himself, as well as his equally productive Deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin, whom before this had a more serious demeanor.

For instance, when the Catholic archbishop of Kuala Lumpur invited the prime minister for a Christmas Day open house last December, Hardev Kaur, an aide to Mr. Najib, said Christian crosses would have to be removed. There could be no carols or prayers, so as not to offend the prime minister, who is Muslim. Ms. Kaur later insisted that she "had made it clear that it was a request and not an instruction," as if any Malaysian could say no to a request from the prime minister's office.

RIGHT

8. The Prime Minister graciously accepted the invitation by the Archbishop on Christmas Day out of respect for the people celebrating the occasion. As was stated by Mallot, Najib’s aide made certain requests and they were satisfied by the Archbishop’s office, indicating that the said requests were not entirely outrageous in a country where Islam is the official religion, headed by a Muslim. So if it was graciously accepted by the latter’s office, they should forever hold their peace and so should stubborn former diplomats whom after three years in Malaysia, learnt nothing of its culture and strength.

WRONG

9. The Archbishop's office could have said no to the request from the Prime Minister's office if it was "unChristian" or religiously inappropriate. It would have been understood and respected. People have said no the Prime Minister' s request before. Refer to the losses of the states of Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Perak in 2008. Was that a "YES" to the request by the Prime Minister for a further five year mandate?

10. Malaysia allows freedom of religion, perhaps with more conviction than any other country in the world. It is said to have more Hindu and Buddhist Temples per square kilometre in this country than even in India and China. I am writing this article at 0100 hours amid more than an hour of loud explosive sounds of the high calibred firecrackers imported from China with much tolerance, because it is the Chinese culture that we all share in Malaysia. Would this even be allowed in the residential areas of Washington DC, or even Jonesboro, Arkansas?

11. Religious and cultural tolerance are our strength for as long as we ignore foreign instigators who are non-practicing Preachers of their own doctrine.

Similar examples of insensitivity abound. In September 2009, Minister of Home Affairs Hishammuddin Onn met with protesters who had carried the decapitated head of a cow, a sacred animal in the Hindu religion, to an Indian temple. Mr. Hishammuddin then held a press conference defending their actions. Two months later, Defense Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told Parliament that one reason Malaysia's armed forces are overwhelmingly Malay is that other ethnic groups have a "low spirit of patriotism." Under public pressure, he later apologized.

12. It was reported in the Star online on 3 September 2009, that Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein ordered the police to proceed with investigations and act sternly on those responsible in regard to the cow heads. He was not defending the actions of those guilty of the act, but the main protestors that were not associated with this small group. Hisham was merely controlling the situation from being blown out of context and proportion to maintain law, peace and order in a Nation with a host of sensitivities. If anything, Hisham is well known for kowtowing to Chinese pressure thinking less of the sensitivities of his own people. So this accusation shouldn’t even get past the starting block at all.

13. Mallot conveniently forgot to include how the Muslim Malays forgave a Chinese group of boys who smashed alcoholic beverages into the walls of a Mosque, when under extreme circumstances such as the one described by him regarding the racial situation here, those boys would have been easily slaughtered by even the most neutral of Muslims witnessing them in action.

14. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s blunder on the lack of Patriotism among non Malays may be beyond defense, though he was not entirely wrong with his statement. He looked even sillier apologizing after standing up in Parliament in arrogance looking cock-sure with his statement. One doesn’t act that way only to apologize under pressure. It doesn’t take a seasoned politician to tell the truth, which is, that positions were opened for applicants of all races. Unfortunately, the number of non-Malays applying for them were significantly insignificant.

The leading Malay language newspaper, Utusan Melayu, prints what opposition leader Lim Kit Siang calls a daily staple of falsehoods that stoke racial hatred. Utusan, which is owned by Mr. Najib's political party, has claimed that the opposition would make Malaysia a colony of China and abolish the Malay monarchy. It regularly attacks Chinese Malaysian politicians, and even suggested that one of them, parliamentarian Teresa Kok, should be killed.

15. I gather from reading the article, either Lim Kit Siang reads Utusan Malaysia more than he does the Chinese Dailies or he understood Malay better than Chinese or whatever dialects their papers are written in. This is because he accuses Utusan of stoking racial hatred when it is full of the same in the Chinese dailies. Perhaps, on this score, Mallot prefers the Malays not to step up to the plate and compete on merit and stand down like the timid Malay servant in the colonial days, serving the Chinese today like they served the “white boys” then.

This steady erosion of tolerance is more than a political challenge. It's an economic problem as well.

Once one of the developing world's stars, Malaysia's economy has underperformed for the past decade. To meet its much-vaunted goal of becoming a developed nation by 2020, Malaysia needs to grow by 8% per year during this decade. That level of growth will require major private investment from both domestic and foreign sources, upgraded human skills, and significant economic reform. Worsening racial and religious tensions stand in the way.

RIGHT

16. Malaysia was one of the World's rising developing stars because it was under the dynamic leadership of Dr Mahathir Mohamed whom despite having great economic foresight, was a terrible judge of character (according to a leading journalist, which I agree) when he picked a lame duck to succeed him, whom in just five (5) years, almost completely dismantled twenty two (22) years of Mahathir’s great work setting us back by at least ten (10) years in development having to clean the mess.

WRONG

17. Incompetence was the primary reason for the underperformance, not manageable racial and religious tensions. Under the auspices of Najib’s leadership, foreign investors are streaming in once again, thinking that with a leader with a stable economic acumen, and one who finally has the reigns, it is wise to invest here. They find that even though it’s a little more expensive than building a plant in China, it is still cheaper comparatively with better quality here in Malaysia than in the United States. In short, while we are gaining jobs here, America is losing theirs rather rapidly to China. Perhaps Mallot needs to look into how to address that within his shores.

18. Had Dr Mahathir followed the wisdom of the members of his UMNO party and chosen Najib accordingly to succeed him, Malaysia would have developed faster, perhaps even achieving that status way before Dr Mahathir's dateline of 2020.

Almost 500,000 Malaysians left the country between 2007 and 2009, more than doubling the number of Malaysian professionals who live overseas. It appears that most were skilled ethnic Chinese and Indian Malaysians, tired of being treated as second-class citizens in their own country and denied the opportunity to compete on a level playing field, whether in education, business, or government. Many of these emigrants, as well as the many Malaysian students who study overseas and never return (again, most of whom are ethnic Chinese and Indian), have the business, engineering, and scientific skills that Malaysia needs for its future. They also have the cultural and linguistic savvy to enhance Malaysia's economic ties with Asia's two biggest growing markets, China and India.

WRONG

19. Though Mallot’s statistic is rather suspect, but we wish these Malaysians the very best of luck in their endeavours abroad and like a good number who’ve preferred to return when they brutally discovered that they were treated like third-class citizens ( a class below the alleged level here), they will be welcomed to rejoin the local workforce and their families where they belong. They are not treated second-class citizens here. If they were, they wouldn’t be allowed to attend vernacular schools conducting classes in the language of their forefathers and practice their cultures, no matter how irritating they can be for some. Do they have Hispanic schools in Mallot’s country? Which class of the society do they belong to?

Of course, one could argue that discrimination isn't new for these Chinese and Indians. Malaysia's affirmative action policies for its Malay majority—which give them preference in everything from stock allocation to housing discounts—have been in place for decades. So what is driving the ethnic minorities away now?

First, these minorities increasingly feel that they have lost a voice in their own government. The Chinese and Indian political parties in the ruling coalition are supposed to protect the interests of their communities, but over the past few years, they have been neutered. They stand largely silent in the face of the growing racial insults hurled by their Malay political partners. Today over 90% of the civil service, police, military, university lecturers, and overseas diplomatic staff are Malay. Even TalentCorp, the government agency created in 2010 that is supposed to encourage overseas Malaysians to return home, is headed by a Malay, with an all-Malay Board of Trustees.

WRONG

20. The minorities were never denied their voice. They are just denied a higher tone than appropriate. When it comes to the minority who’re generally material based, the ability to speak is not primary to their being. The continued search for higher net worth is their priority, and we cannot fault them for that. Their exodus is for that cause alone. We wish them well and always open our arms when they return for as long as they don’t give up their citizenship. That is the beauty of freedom, proof of our love for them and that democracy is in full bloom in this country.

21. Naturally, in any country, the majority race will have the important positions while the others either prosper in business or are left to their own disposal. This is evident in our good neighbors Singapore, Indonesia, and even China. Even America produced a number not even worth mentioning of black Generals in its Armed Forces. The welcomed yet accidental victory of Barrack Obama as President was because the Republicans and the Clinton team failed to see the importance of the new media and the internet population. And he is not even a full red blooded African American having a Caucasion mother.

Second, economic reform and adjustments to the government's affirmative action policies are on hold. Although Mr. Najib held out the hope of change a year ago with his New Economic Model, which promised an "inclusive" affirmative action policy that would be, in Mr. Najib's words, "market friendly, merit-based, transparent and needs-based," he has failed to follow through. This is because of opposition from right-wing militant Malay groups such as Perkasa, which believe that a move towards meritocracy and transparency threatens what they call "Malay rights."

WRONG

22. The economic reform is not on hold. Prime Minister Najib has relaxed some of the sectors in the economy whereby the rigid 30 percent Bumiputera equity no longer became mandatory and several other inclusive economic packages. Further pressure from ungrateful minority leaders will not help in expediting the process and opening new horizons. They take time to adopt. Nothing changes overnight! It took America 233 years to see a half-black -half-white President and Commander-in-Chief (222 years if ones dates it after the adoption of the Constitution).

But stalling reform will mean a further loss in competitiveness and slower growth. It also means that the cronyism and no-bid contracts that favor the well-connected will continue. All this sends a discouraging signal to many young Malaysians that no matter how hard they study or work, they will have a hard time getting ahead.

WRONG

23. Young Malaysians have no problem getting jobs in this country unless they want to take the shortcut by dreaming of getting contracts that they know absolutely nothing about. Being well connected shouldn’t be a curse and while it is celebrated and encouraged, today’s leadership emphasizes on one’s ability to perform and not one’s close proximity with the powers that be. The Civil Service many of whom also support the opposition has been given much power where Cabinet ministers prefer to rely on their advocate before making a decision.

24. Could the cronyism and no-bid contracts that Mallot was referring to, be like the Halliburton Company that got contracts in Iraq by the former US administration due to their excellent connections?

Mr. Najib may not actually believe much of the rhetoric emanating from his party and his government's officers, but he tolerates it because he needs to shore up his Malay base. It's politically convenient at a time when his party faces its most serious opposition challenge in recent memory—and especially when the opposition is challenging the government on ethnic policy and its economic consequences. One young opposition leader, parliamentarian Nurul Izzah Anwar, the daughter of former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim, has proposed a national debate on what she called the alternative visions of Malaysia's future—whether it should be a Malay nation or a Malaysian nation. For that, she earned the wrath of Perkasa; the government suggested her remark was "seditious."

WRONG

25. If indeed Najib Razak tolerates the rhetoric, it is not for the need to shore up Malay support because the good majority of them already know that his ability to lead with his loyal and able Deputy at hand to support him is Malaysia’s final hope. The tolerance mentioned is to fend off equally aggressive pressure from the minority leaders breaching our trust and camaraderie, taking advantage of the short spell of weakness in leadership of Dr Mahathir’s successor Abdullah Badawi.

26. Mallot needs to redeem his credentials and withdraw his advertisement for Nurul Izzah MP’s proposed national debate on whether Malaysia should be a Malay or Malaysian nation. In their recently soiled party elections, her father-and-mother’s party of Keadilan couldn’t even afford a space to non-Malays to contest the top posts other than minor positions acting as servants to their family cause. If I have a compliment to present at all to Anwar Ibrahim and his family, it is their ability to turn this “white boy” Mallot into one of their associate servants serving in a foreign “mansion”.

Malaysia's government might find it politically expedient to stir the racial and religious pot, but its opportunism comes with an economic price tag. Its citizens will continue to vote with their feet and take their money and talents with them. And foreign investors, concerned about racial instability and the absence of meaningful economic reform, will continue to look elsewhere to do business.

WRONG

27. This is a price that we can afford to pay because the “rich” minority will soon discover that it is to their benefit not to antagonize the majority Malays, and decide to maintain their wealth and roots here, coming to their senses. They have more to lose than the Malays because the opportunity to prosper in Malaysia for them is like no other in the world, and that’s a bankable fact!

28. Foreign investors take into consideration the valid safety of their long term investments in any country. They will send feelers and forensic economic investigators and advisors to the nations of their choice and not rely on one article by a washed-up diplomat just because it’s written in the Wall Street Journal.

29. Malaysia is still the most conducive country to invest in this region. It is rich with natural resources; still fairly cheap in labour; free from terrorism; with political stability; no catastrophic weather and extreme geographical conditions; and under Najib Razak, an intelligent leader who knows his worth, consistent in its sound policies.

30. Though Ambassador Mallot May Have Wasted His Tour Of Duty Here, Not Learning Anything About The Country He Was Commissioned To Serve In, Perhaps These 30 Points May Be Used As Cliffsnotes For Him And His Like As A Quick Study Guide To Better Understand The Political And Social Culture Of This Blessed Nation.

2. 71% of the registered voters came out to perform thier responsibilities to the Nation under close to extreme conditions to the extent that they had to be transported via boats and other water vessels to and from their voting stations.

3. Naturally, Barisan Nasional won with 6699 votes against PAS' 2992, re-emphasizing the fact that Johor remains the bastion of the Malaysian Government of the day.

4. The 3,707 majority represented a 1,215 vote increase from the previous election under the failed Malay leadership of Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Two Big Fish In A Tiny Pond

UMNO President Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Razak would be wise to revoke Shahidan Kassim’s appointment as the Deputy Liaison Committee Chairman in Perlis if he can’t command the loyalty and respect of an arrogant “has been” who fails to recognize the chain of command in the Party.

Shahidan was quoted to say in The Star, “I will talk to the party president before deciding whether or not to accept the appointment. I want to know the KPI (key performance index) results of the state first,” while openly criticizing Menteri Besar Dr Md Isa, calling him a weak leader who failed to strengthen the state Umno.

This is a State which is not much bigger than my UMNO Division of Pulai with leaders who can’t even hold the fort together creating a headache for the leadership. There are only three UMNO divisions in this State, so small it could be run by a sick Mayor with more success!

I’m saddened by the fact that we Malays, especially our unpolished leaders have a tendency to shoot our mouths off whenever the press shoves either a microphone or a tape-recorder in their faces trying to gain political mileage, without realizing that they are locked on the reverse gear! Why can’t we learn from our close neighbours and show more class in keeping our cards to our chest and reveal nothing especially when our backs are against the wall instead of snitching on one another like a political whore with not much legs left to show?

Even if Shahidan had a valid grievance to air, he should do it privately with the President instead of declaring it openly through a Chinese led English newspaper which would gladly print it with much pleasure looking for cracks within UMNO.

Dato’ Sri Najib is a gracious and fair leader in bringing back past leaders whom he thinks can still contribute in their respective capacities but for this blatant insubordination, Najib should make an example out of Shahidan as a warning shot to UMNO divisional leaders that the party under his watch will not tolerate being held at ransom and is willing to lose a few if it means cleansing the party of this filth!

Twenty years ago when I was in high school, I remember there was news of a strike by the Singapore Airline pilots. My memory was refreshed by my company Chairman Dato’ Nik Kamaruddin Ismail at our meeting this morning. Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew gave the pilots an ultimatum and said that if they did not come to work, they will be out of jobs as he was willing to rebuild the Airline from scratch without even flinching, with other pilots who are willing and able to be recruited. They caved in and behaved themselves relatively well afterwards.

UMNO President Najib Razak is in a stronger position in the party as the majority of us are banking our lives and the future of our children on his extraordinary leadership. His position is also strengthened by a capable Deputy in Muhyiddin Yassin. We can afford to lose several loose heads in UMNO without suffering any damage as long as Najib exerts his power either explicitly or otherwise. This he should have learned well from our fourth Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed who mastered this skill exquisitely.

Soi Lek Using Up First Of His Nine Lives At This Press Conference Witnessed By The Late Sulaiman Taha.

1. We begin by reciting Al-Fatiha for the soul of my comrade Datuk Sulaiman Taha, the State Assemblyman for the seat of Tenang who passed away recently. May he rest in peace and his family be granted the courage to manage their great loss by the Almighty. We also thank his family for their sacrifice and the great service that he rendered on behalf of Barisan Nasional.

2. Straight up with the statistics, this was the result for the state seat of Tenang in 2008. YB Dato Sulaiman Taha (BN): 6,367; Hj Mohd Saim b Siran (PAS): 3,875; Majority for BN: 2,492. Total number of voters: 14,592

3. Ethnic breakdown: Malays: 7,042; Chinese: 5,635; Indian: 1,754; Sabahans : 6; Sarawakians: 5; Orang Asli: 139; Others: 11 (as at 30th June 2010).

4. Party branches in the State seat of Tenang;

UMNO: 20 branches with 4,768 members of whom only 4,072 are registered voters; MCA: 6 branches with 3,800 members of whom 1,700 are eligible voters; MIC: 11 branches with 1,450 members of whom 1,170 can vote; Gerakan: 4 branches with 432 members of whom 241 are voters and PPP: 7 branches with 975 members of whom only 690 can vote.

5. The total number of BN branches in Tenang are 48 with 11,428 members strong but only 7,873 are registered voters.

6. State seat of Tenang is under the Parliamentary constituency of Labis where Dr Chua Soi Lek comes from which his son YB Chua Tee Yong is serving replacing him.

7. Over the past year Soi Lek has been very vocal questioning the position of the Malays and UMNO in the leadership hierarchy of this Nation forgetting the fact that the Malays were the ones who put his son into Parliament in Labis while the Chinese looked the other way.

8. Far before the Barisan Nasional Convention was held early this month at the MCA Headquarters, I had a premonition that Soi Lek would abuse Prime Minister Najib and UMNO’s graciousness by show-boating, taking jabs and potshots at the coalition’s Managing Partner UMNO, trying to act like his party was the saviour of Barisan Nasional when they weren’t even worth the shirt on their backs ever since 2008!

9. If BN’s Chairman Najib Razak started the Convention with a perfect upswing and most inspiring speech that just needed a basic follow-through by component members to complete the beautiful stroke, it was Chua Soi Lek from MCA who just had to break the momentum shanking the message that should have shown unity, cooperation and renewed vigour heading towards the general election that is already in clear sight!

10. As it is God’s Will, The Passing Of Sulaiman Taha Forcing A By-Election Of A State Seat In Labis Will Be An Acid Test For Soi Lek Because If He Can’t Even Bring Back The Chinese Numbers In His Own Back Yard Being The President Of The Largest Chinese Party In The Nation, He Would Yet Again Be A Disgrace To The Malaysian Chinese Association And Should Just Return To Being A General Practitioner In A Small Village Clinic Taking Blood Pressures And Pushing Panadols And Medical Chits.

Right Bruise, Wrong Face?

Barisan Nasional namely UMNO leaders should:

1. Remain calm and collected.

2. Do not criticize them further trying to do more damage.

3. Minimize comments as best possible as they are not at all media savvy and the more said

the less intelligent they will appear undermining UMNO and the Prime Minister’s

immaculate credentials as a leader with an impeccable mind .

4. Kill the “Holier than thou” attitude trying to give a running commentary as though the

voters are blind and can’t tell the difference.

5. Keep airing PKR members’ grievances on national and cable television without our

leaders’ participating remarks.

6. Leave the arrogant face at home while commenting on the faults of our enemies.

7. Be humble and leave it to the Rakyat to observe and make their choice.

8. Focus on our strength from now on.

In The Name Of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. We Seek Your Mercy In Prayer For The Quick Recovery Of Our Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Mohd Najib Abdul Razak. Amin.

Perfectly Balanced Scale

As I had quietly prayed for and expected, Barisan Nasional won a Double in the seats of Galas and Batu Sapi. As the latter is one that was held by BN until the death of its representative, I opted to go to Galas, where the seat was held by PAS which has led the State government for the last 20 years. This seat was also left vacant after the death of its representative.

OBSERVATION ON GALAS

The BN campaign in Galas was under the stewardship of Statesman Mentor and a 9 term MP for Gua Musang, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (TRH).

Bearing witness to BN winning back the State seat from the “government” under his direction taught me a lot about the method and approach we should adopt in reaching and getting the attention of the people. There is not a “one size fits all” method in campaigning. We have to study the culture of the target voters and assimilate. Only then can they identify with us. More importantly as shown by TRH, exercise humility. It doesn’t cost much. In addition, if we all do our homework well and really know the area in which we serve, the campaign cost could be kept to a bare minimum, like in Galas.

They Come To Him

The UMNO Division chiefs who are usually election directors in their respective areas should keep TRH’s approach which is having many small cell meetings with the rakyat at coffee shops with the occasional big speaking functions, as one of the options in their campaign strategies. When the smaller crowd has direct and personal interaction with the candidate or leader of the pack, they would in turn become our agents to spread the word to their community, relatives and friends about our goal and aspirations. But if we can’t even sell our “product” to the small group, don’t even dream about winning over the mass using the short-cut method holding big “ceramahs”.

Yes, in Galas, Gua Musang, it was not about the candidate. It was about the salesmen in the form of Tengku Razaleigh who has kept his word and served the people of Gua Musang exquisitely for 50 years that made them bank on BN’s promise just on his word alone.

I was privileged to be with TRH on nomination day and on the eve of the election. He seemed calm and cool compared to the other leaders who came to check on the developments. One senior leader, who was asked, said that he only smoked cigarettes under heavy stress, and he looked exactly that after coming out of the briefing room puffing away. Perhaps that’s the difference between someone who knows his worth and another who is unsure of his work. TRH delegated his work meticulously and trusted his judgment.

The Calm and Collected Statesman On The Eve Of The Election

He even had time to relax and have tea with us for a couple of hours while reading printed copies from the new media on his campaign, realizing how important they are in this new age.

The majority of voters in Gua Musang voted Tengku Razaleigh’s way and Barisan leaders should appreciate that fact instead of taking the glory solely attributing it to national policies with only the opposition giving him some credit. Make no mistake, our newly formulated national policies are stellar, but the voters of Galas believed in it more because TRH was the one pitching it to them.

TRH had made my prediction good by winning the day with more votes than we had lost in the 2008 election, in The Patriot’s October 8 article on him at http://tpj-one-thepatriot.blogspot.com/2010/10/ku-li-or-not-to-be.html. There was a spread of almost 1800 votes since the last election in Galas.

We’ll take this win however it came, as honestly speaking, it was Barisan’s great strategy of allowing TRH to hold the reins, and the will of God, that allowed us to achieve the desired result. The handsome majority of more than 6,000 votes in the Batu Sapi win also boosted BN’s spirits as it is evident that with the return of the “estranged” voters to the fold, fundamentals and common sense are beginning to prevail.

Now Let Us Accept This Win With All Humility, Thank God And The Voters For Their Trust In Us, And Work Even Harder To Fulfill Our Promises. The Rest Will Fall In Place Nicely. If It Is Ordained, It Will Be Our Destiny To Regain Our Former Glory And Bring This Country Back To Greater Heights Achieving Developed Status In Time For The Year 2020 As Envisioned By The Great Mahathir Mohamed.

THE just-concluded Umno general assembly is one of the most memorable assemblies for me.

The closed-door presidential briefing to delegates, the speech by party deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the opening of the three Umno wings’ meetings and party president Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s maiden and winding-up speeches set the path of the party moving forward. This year’s debates may be void of the witty speakers but maturity prevailed.

I initially thought Najib overreached in his approach but he presented himself to me as Umno president first before being the prime minister. I had great satisfaction listening to his winding-up speech before the end of the assembly.

He convinced me and other delegates that, while it is important to take care of the nation and the rest, the Malay agenda will never be forsaken as long as the party is in power.

Only Umno can interpret the spirit that rests within the Constitution vis à-vis the position of the Malays.

At the start of the assembly, most delegates agreed that the Malay agenda should be the main topic of discussion. Other matters meant nothing if we couldn’t even settle this most crucial part of the Malaysian story. They insisted that when racial harmony and the security of the nation were being threatened, no development plan in the world could be successfully implemented.
Najib responded positively but also sent a clear message to everyone, friends as well as foes.

It is time to bury the racial debate for good as nothing can be done to alter the position of Islam and the Malays unless consent is given by the nine Malay rulers.The open racial debate should cease after this, especially by those within the Barisan Nasional coalition, because it will be a huge stumbling block for all parties concerned with the general election in clear sight.

Najib had, in his speech, outlined seven points for members to adopt: place party interests above self, work as a team, win over the people, blend with the new media, capture the confidence of new voters, work towards zero problems in the party and live up to the “people first, performance now” rule of conduct.

He also touched on transformation in the party, which Umno has done recently, keeping to its word.

To recapitulate, it began immediately after Najib’s election to the presidency when Umno decided to amend its constitution, making it more democratic and easier for candidates to contest the top leadership position.

It also provided for more participation from the grassroots in deciding who they want to lead them.

In contrast to his predecessors, Najib actually made it easier for members to challenge him.

In the same spirit as their president, the Umno delegates too sacrificed their personal political strength for the sake of the party’s survival by transferring their power to elect to the masses.

With just one raise of the hand, they simultaneously relinquished their right to vote, while drastically minimising political corruption at their level, an accusation so frequently thrown at them in the past, sometimes by the very hands that spoiled them. But for their faith in the new president, this amendment would have never seen the light of day.

At the Federal Government level, transformation was seen in the steps taken to liberalise 27 services subsectors in our economy whereby the 30 per cent Bumiputera equity no longer became mandatory.

Component parties within BN should have embraced this with much contentment. Seeing the sincerity in Umno’s transformation should spur them to work even harder and tighter in explaining these moves to their respective communities; using it to win them over instead of demanding for more from their senior partner in the coalition.

It cannot be denied that Umno is truly the party that best represents not only the Malays but also the people of 1Malaysia.

I, myself, am much inspired and look forward to working closely with component partners in the coalition to ensure that we move forward as 1Barisan Nasional in the service of the rakyat who deserve good leadership.

LOOKING FORWARD TO A CLEAR MESSAGE AT THE ASSEMBLY

I have been a delegate to the Umno general assembly for the past 15 years. I’ve witnessed many changes – from three Presidents to as many deputy presidents, the sacking for one deputy president, no less than nine vice-presidents including two suspended ones and the changes in the Constitution.

I’ve witnessed shocking announcements by two presidents; one as a politically minded student when the late Tun Hussein Onn announced his retirement during his winding up speech, aired lived on television, at the 1981 Umno General Assembly and the other as a delegate from within the august hall of Dewan Merdeka when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad rocked the nation also with his retirement plans.

I remember clearly to this day that my mobile phone did not stop ringing as acquaintances, stuck in the paralyzed streets of Kuala Lumpur, wanted confirmation on what they heard on the radio. It was traumatic for many.

During Dr Mahathir’s reign, the mantra for the day was Bersih, Cekap, Amanah. Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi brought with him Islam Hadhari while the current Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak propagates 1Malaysia.

While I wasn’t around to witness the early stages of Cekap, Bersih, Amanah, which was really self-explanatory, I watched and listened to how Islam Hadhari was explained at several General Assemblies under Abdullah. A lot of time was spent to educate everyone including the ready Muslims on what it meant, many of whom were still unclear, well after his departure from office.

As for 1Malaysia, there are currently many different interpretations although there is only one, which promotes unity without distorting the Constitution.

I look forward to a crisp and crystal clear explanation of what 1Malaysia is from Najib so that everyone can understand, without the slightest ambiguity, once and for all in this General Assembly.

But in my many years of involvement in the General Assembly, none of the arguments were better prepared than the years that were accompanied by state conventions.

They make arguments and motions more serious and productive, in the form of presentation as well as action to be followed through by the leaders.

At these conventions, the Umno grassroots in each state usually deliberate thoroughly over two days to come with a collective resolution on what motion to table at the General Assembly.

This works well because even if the debates were considered guided ones, it would still be garnered by ideas and opinions from the mass as opposed to just a handful of members that meet on the eve of the assembly, flipping over the details for a decent presentation the next day.
This makes for a boring and unproductive three-day event that won’t really serve our purpose except to send out flashes of rhetorics.

Off late, we have not had these state conventions barring a few liaison committee meetings like that in the Federal Territory and Terengganu. I hope to see them revived especially when our political situation is left wanting in the face of a future General Election.

I also look forward to the New Political Model that the Prime Minister intends to introduce to Umno, perhaps in his maiden speech on October 21. In politics, serious measures need to be taken in time, well before a desperate situation arises to avoid irreparable damage.

I pray that by the end of the Assembly on Saturday, we can all proceed to believe with full conviction that Umno is still the party that best represents the Malays in a plural society while protecting the interest of all Malaysians at the same time.

Defender of The Faith, Race And Nation

With only less than a week left before the UMNO General Assembly, I’m told that most of the State Liaison Committees are not having State Conventions to collect direct feedback from the grassroots and be tabled in the debate during the Assembly. Uncharacteristically, UMNO Johor is not holding one either. This is at a time when Malay unity is at its lowest ebb. What baffles me is that these Conventions were very popular during the times when we were at our strongest point. Unconventional wouldn’t you think? No pun intended.

I would think at this crucial time, when Malay unity is at its worst, UMNO Liaison Committees would hold brainstorming sessions and collect important feedback from the mass before the States’ best Malay brains can gather and consolidate them into one strong case for the debate at the Assembly to be held between 20-23 October. Alas, it is not to be. Despite the leadership’s call, it looks like it is still business as usual in UMNO where a small group in each State will sit down with their Liaison chief, probably the night before the Assembly to hash out the points they want to promote and try to turn it into a decent guided debate the next day.

Some states would appoint serious speakers to read a prepared text which they only receive on the morning of the deliverance, while others might appoint the funniest character that can hold court with inappropriate sexual innuendos in between, or a “ loose cannon “ that will just shoot his mouth off and cross all sensitive borders going off tangent. There are however the rare occasions where a delegate comes prepared with the important facts, and can hold the audience down, but it doesn’t happen often enough.

On the current, it looks like the party is afraid to hear from the ground, matters that touch to the core of our problems. What UMNO stands for is to defend Islam, Malay rights as enshrined in the Constitution and the security of our Nation. However, we seem to be leaving it to the Monarchy Institution and Utusan Malaysia together with a robust Malay NGO with a President who is beginning to get out of control to do the job for us.

“Keturunan Pendatang” Seeking The Review of The Malay Quota

The MCA had just finished their Annual General Assembly and while Prime Minister Najib Razak assured that the Chinese are no longer to be termed as “Pendatang”, which we will comply out of respect, the MCA still insists on harping on the 30% Bumiputera quota to be reviewed raising fury from the UMNO grassroots and Malays in general with no outlet to express their dissatisfaction prior to the UMNO General Assembly. Rightly so, “Pendatang” should no longer be used because the current generation was born here. However, “Keturunan Pendatang” would be a more appropriate and permanent term for them especially when they forget their place and demand for the abolishment of a Malay privilege.

Until They Cease To Step Beyond Their Place Of Propriety While Living The Dream Here Like No Other In This World, They Should Live With That Term. And If Any Of The Speaking Delegates Is Worth The Pint Of His Malay Blood, This Issue Will Seriously Be Taken Up. That Is What The Rest Are Thinking Of While Hoping That Telepathy Is Strong In The Merdeka Hall, In The Absence Of State Conventions Coming Into The General Assembly.

NAJIB TELLS OFF MCA, TO THEIR FACES!

Finally, Prime Minister Najib Razak tells the MCA at their 57th Annual General Assembly, just like it is, ie. Stop bitching and start working! Well actually those were my words, but it sure sounds better doesn’t it?

His words were: "Every time election comes, you ask for big allocations. Don’t expect the federal government to solve all your problems when in fact you have not been working. You think if you bring in big projects, the people will support you because you give them money?"

The Barisan Nasional Chairman continued, "Leaders have to work for the party, be loyal and committed. If they are not loyal, please leave the party. Make way for others who believe in our cause."

This Message Is Short And Sweet (Too Spicy For Some Whose Agenda Has Slowly Been Uncovered) Coming From The Bona Fide Prime Minister. It sounds like a Shakespeare recital with Bach in the background to my ears! I Should Leave It There In all Its Serenity And Say No More!

Man of The Hour

YBM Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah (TRH) the gentleman statesman returns from abroad early Saturday morning to what will be a warm welcome from his supporters and curious onlookers who’ve been invited to receive him. For the next few weeks, the politician Prince will be the flavor of the month considering there will be a by-election in his constituency of Gua Musang, namely for the State seat for Galas after the passing of the Assemblyman, whose name if you noticed have not been mentioned ever since TRH was said to have accepted the position of Operations Director for the by-election which is by tradition a post usually held by the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Patriot would like to pause and offer our deepest condolences to the family of Al-Marhum Che Hashim Sulaima and thank them for their unselfish sacrifice in allowing him to serve and spend time with the Rakyat as State Assemblyman for Galas. May his soul be placed amongst the righteous. Al-Fatihah.

It is rather refreshing to see that UMNO leaders have finally learnt some manners since the first day of Aidilfitri. Showing respect especially to an elder statesman, who presented his own piece of land to the party, where we now make our fiery speeches, meet and dine for one another at the yearly UMNO General Assembly, shows that we are a cultured lot. Allowing TRH to take the reign and decide for a seat in the Constituency that he has served as Member of Parliament for nine terms is an unorthodox yet brilliant move by the top brass. Now all they have to do is give him the necessary tools and get out of his way to ensure a comfortable victory. Flooding Gua Musang with “foreigners” may backfire since speakers and politicians from outside of Kelantan may adopt the wrong approach and style and are not usually welcomed. Even State UMNO leaders should stay away and let TRH and his machinery work in peace. It’s an open secret that Kelantan leaders don’t see eye to eye with each other which gave birth to the local term “Cah Keting” meaning self-sabotaging the team out of spite for one or two personalities. By taking that approach, TRH’s team will be working harder and possibly smoother at it to ensure a victory as the total onus will be on them to deliver without the others taking the glory for a win nor having to take the blame for a loss. I strongly believe that BN will win as I was told that previously, disrespect was shown to the elder statesman by the federal government led by Abdullah Badawi by nominating an unfavorable candidate without even consulting with him. With the will of Allah we will prevail this time.

Despite what has been said and done about TRH, it was personalities like him and Tun Dr Mahathir from outside while Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim and Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (during the Johor State UMNO meeting with the then PM) from inside who shook the incompetence out of former Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi’s chair resulting in his early retirement, and for that we owe them our gratitude.

I would place a wager against Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah recommending himself as candidate to run for the Galas seat as unlike in the case of Tan Sri Isa Samad, he would have more to lose than to gain. I would bank all my chips on him giving his full weight of support to his nominee whomever it may be to ensure that BN wins with a bigger margin than the last won by PAS.

Finally, If Anyone Were To Think That TRH Will Fall Back In Line After That And Not Press On With The Oil Royalty For The Kelantan People, Then They Should Have Their Heads Examined. Tengku Razaleigh Is His Own Man. Let Us Just Capitalize On What He Can Deliver For Us For Now And Let The Chips Fall Where They May Until We Cross That Next Bridge.

BIG MISTAKE TO CHASTISE PERKASA!

They Will Either Unite Or DivideThe Malays For Us

When it comes to making stupid, ridiculous statements and at the least appropriate time, we can always bank on the second liners in UMNO!

These were the headlines of a few of the dailies; ‘Umno rejects Perkasa ‘ – The Star; ‘Umno does not support Perkasa’ - The New Straits Times, and the mother of all classics considered as an Aidilfitri present to Perkasa members of 200,000 Malays; ‘Perkasa made up of “rejects”’ – The New Straits Times on Raya day.

The UMNO Secretary General, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor had to pick the eve of Aidilfitri, a period when forgiveness and restraint is expected from us, to hurt the feelings of fellow Muslim Malays after a meeting with non-Malay leaders, just a couple of days before Muslims celebrated after a month of fasting. If ever there was a bird-brain in Malay politics, it would be the current Secretary General of UMNO for not using wisdom and tact in handling the feelings of the Malays. His sense of timing was perfect too, for an imbecile.

Nazri Aziz, the play-safe, free-passed, non-elected UMNO Supreme Council member was also reported to have lambasted the Perkasa by saying that they were made up of Umno rejects. This was on page 6 of The New Straits Times on Aidilfitri. One who is always out to make headlines, even juicier for him if it is controversial, he forgets that he often contradicts himself in the very same interview. He says that there was nothing to announce on Perkasa but does a 180 degree turn by taking a swipe at the members who were predominantly UMNO/ BN supporters.

If we notice the trend among the leaders, it is always the filthy rich among them with nothing much to lose, perhaps with properties abroad who tend to make damaging remarks to show their political manhood only to be the first to flee the country when all hell breaks loose because of their recklessness.

Perkasa is not only made up of past leaders or those who have either retired or lost in their last divisional elections, they are also made up of current UMNO members from the grassroots whose continued contribution to the party and nation should be embraced and welcomed, not mocked. They see UMNO as having lost their gust for defending Malay rights when attacked by aliens. Hence, while maintaining their membership and total support for the party, they have no second thoughts of joining the Perkasa establishment when they see a platform that protects their interests as provided for in the Constitution with much vigour and valid aggression in the same form that is applied by the aliens while questioning Malay rights.

What the Malays on the ground are worried about today is why the Malay leaders are mute when Chinese leaders themselves, not having to hide behind Chinese organizations anymore like before, question Malay rights and privileges? Where were Tengku Adnan and Nazri then?
I have seen UMNO grassroots leaders vote the other way because of their loss of confidence in leaders with traits like the two jokers mentioned above. Perkasa is in a position to break the very little solid support UMNO has left into bits, and be the deciding factor in the coming elections. I’m sure they wouldn’t be granted the privilege of forming a party, but UMNO leaders must remember that they can either support the opposing Malay candidate, or sponsor an Malay independent candidate swinging their Malay votes his way allowing the minority Chinese candidate in DAP to waltz in. We may say that’s impossible considering they are a Malay rights group, but if they see UMNO as being a hard-core Chinese lover who is not getting much love back at the expense of the Malays, they might as well give in just to punish us for our wrong strategies.

Those Perkasa members who’ve lost by a whisker in the past elections still have substantial influence in their respective divisions. Many have come out tops in the past divisional delegates meeting (G7) to represent their divisions in the UMNO Convention in October marking their relevance still. They can sway no less than 30% of the UMNO votes if they wish. Was it wise to ridicule them considering they are from our own family?

I have in my past postings stressed upon the fact that we need to maintain, nurture and secure the Malay votes that are already safely in our hands, instead of overreaching and bending backwards to win the hearts of the ungrateful Chinese community judging from the last few by-elections, while neglecting the former. I emphasize on this community because the Indians according to the statistics have return albeit not in the reverse-exodus fashion to Barisan Nasional. If coaxing, persuading and pre-rewarding them have all failed, then we should force upon the Chinese, the positive reinforcement model of only delivering when they come through for us. I think the Chinese call it the “merit system”. Start by punishing their political leaders by not giving them positions in the Cabinet until they work their oriental butts off to carry their weight in the coalition.

There are certain outrageous demands made by Perkasa but we needn’t have to entertain them at all, least of all comment in this damaging fashion. In fact, we can choose to snub them altogether and they will understand. That is what a pressure group does. I think we can all agree that Ibrahim Ali is a character that leaves much to be desired politically but the fact remains that perhaps out of 10 demands and stands he has put up under Perkasa in defense of Malay rights under attacks by Chinese leaders, a fair majority of it makes a lot of sense and are not entirely ridiculous.

Damage control MUST be made by Prime Minister Najib Razak and his Deputy Muhyiddin Yassin before the Perkasa movement drifts too far away from us. Technically speaking, Tengku Adnan and Nazri Aziz would themselves be termed as political has been if not for their appointments by the Prime Minister. I’m afraid that if nothing is done, these two un-elected yet arrogant officials might well be the cause of UMNO’s downfall in the coming general elections.

It May Be Aidilfitri For Us, But These Two UMNO Buggers Might Have Just Made It Feel Like Gong Xi Fa Chai For The Chinese Community By Smacking Down Our Own NGO, Something That The Chinese Political Parties Would Never Do To Their Own, No Matter How Chauvinistic They May Be. I Can Just Feel Them Celebrating Now From Our Deliberately Scored Own Goal! In The History of Football, I’m Sure You Have Never Seen Players Being Proud Scoring Own Goals. Well In Malaysian Politics, Look No Further Than Tengku Adnan And Nazri Aziz!

Better Late Than Never

After four days of posting the disgust I felt for the MCA President and his cheap stunt of trying to stir up racial disharmony to distract people from MCA’s serious inability to serve and win the Chinese over, Utusan Malaysia finally took the matter up by interviewing Malay leaders on the matters of the same. Below is the excerpt from today’s front page which proves my article right that the Chinese regardless of their political affiliations will unite for the sake of their own race while the Malays would rather quarrel with one another benefiting the aliens just to spite their own people. My own prediction is that MCA will sacrifice itself and deliberately lose the BN ticket in the next election so that DAP can have more seats and strengthen the Chinese hold on national politics to push their Communistic attributes on the National Policy. Let this be a humble “ heads up ” for our good Prime Minister to ponder over. Best we expel them and start to serve the Chinese community ourselves. To those who think this is a racist’s view, think again. Our quarrel is not with the Chinese people at large, but their blasted leaders who use race based arguments to threaten the harmony of this multiracial country for personal glory. EXPEL MCA FROM BN AND PUT CHUA SOI LEK IN ISA! After all, only 7% of the Chinese public like him. Perhaps we might even win more Chinese votes if we detain him with as good a cause as this.

Perbuatan 'ala DAP' bangkitkan rasa sakit hati

KUALA LUMPUR 17 Ogos - Presiden MCA, Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek diminta menghentikan perbuatannya yang 'ala DAP' kerana ia hanya akan membangkitkan rasa sakit hati kaum Melayu di negara ini.

Ahli Majlis Tertinggi (MT) UMNO, Dr. Mohd. Puad Zakashi berkata, antaranya adalah tindakan Soi Lek menyentuh hak serta keistimewaan orang Melayu seperti mana termaktub dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

Beliau turut menyelar Soi Lek kerana menjadikan Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) sebagai kambing hitam tetapi tidak menegur pertubuhan Cina seperti Dong Zong yang sering membangkitkan isu-isu sensitif.

"Begitu juga dengan permintaannya memperbanyakkan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC). Kerajaan tidak pernah mengabaikan usaha membina SJKC yang baru tetapi isunya ialah tanah dan kos. Soi Lek tahu mengenai perkara ini.

"Walau apa pun, di peringkat kerajaan sudah tentu keutamaan diberi kepada pembinaan sekolah kebangsaan kerana ia merupakan aliran utama dalam memenuhi hasrat Dasar Pelajaran Kebangsaan," katanya dalam blog puadzarkashii.blogspot.com.

Tulisannya itu sebagai mengulas kenyataan-kenyataan kontroversi Soi Lek yang disiarkan di akhbar-akhbar tempatan baru-baru ini.

Terbaru Soi Lek berkata, MCA tidak takut berkongsi pandangan dengan DAP dalam hal yang memberi keuntungan kepada masyarakat Cina.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin ketika mengulas tindak-tanduk Soi Lek itu mengingatkan MCA supaya jangan terlalu ghairah menjuarai kepentingan dan tuntutan kaum sendiri sehingga menjejaskan kestabilan serta keharmonian antara kaum di negara ini.
Mohd. Puad menjelaskan, tidak seperti sekolah jenis kebangsaan, sekolah kebangsaan bukan untuk pelajar Melayu sahaja sebaliknya ia adalah sekolah bagi semua kaum.

"Untuk pengetahuan Soi Lek, banyak lagi sekolah kebangsaan khususnya di pedalaman dan luar bandar yang daif. Sekolah ini dipenuhi oleh pelajar daripada pelbagai keturunan seperti Iban, Kadazan, Penan, Murut dan Kayan.

"Apakah sekolah mereka yang daif itu mesti diabaikan hanya untuk memenuhi desakan Soi Lek," katanya.

Dalam perkembangan berkaitan, Mohd. Puad berkata, tidak dinafikan kini timbul kebimbangan bahawa Soi Lek terikut-ikut dengan rentak dan cara DAP bagi meraih semula sokongan masyarakat Cina.

"Sokongan orang Cina kepada MCA ternyata merosot. Pilihan raya kecil di Hulu Selangor dan Sibu membuktikan segalanya-galanya," katanya.

Bagaimanapun, beliau berkata, Soi Lek tidak pula boleh mengambil jalan mudah dengan menuding jari kepada UMNO kononnya sikap beberapa pemimpin memperjuangkan isu orang Melayu menyebabkan orang Cina lari daripada menyokong BN.

"Peliknya ada antara mereka termasuk Soi Lek bebas sesuka hati membangkitkan isu-isu sensitif yang akhirnya menyakitkan hati orang Melayu," katanya.

Recap: UMNO Providing Substance While MCA Provides Nuisance

Like an empty tin can that makes a loud noise, Dr Chua Soi Lek and his MCA is a loud canister with neither the substance nor the intelligence to know what is good for them. It is a known fact that the vast majority of the Chinese voters will not support the MCA anytime soon no matter how Gung Ho toward the establishment or generous they become towards their own. They now have to rely on the Malay votes in many areas where UMNO still has influence to persuade the Malays to vote for them. Yet, they persist in hurting the feelings of the Muslims and Malays at large by making unnecessary comments pertaining to their rights and faith.

In three previous postings, I had remarked that the term “ Sombong bodoh “, or “ Arrogantly stupid “, is a term reserved primarily for the Malays as it is a well known trait among this race. Evidently, in line with the Prime Minister’s 1Malaysia theme, the MCA led by its loudmouthed President has adopted this Malay trait and turned it into an art of its own. In Johor alone, there are three parliamentary and around six State Malay majority seats contested by Chinese BN candidates mainly from MCA and one or two from GERAKAN. Following the verbal diarrhea by Soi Lek, there is much talk on the ground amongst the Malays including the UMNO grassroots to decide not to vote for them in the coming elections. To them, if they have to vote for Communist sounding Chinamen bashing their own partners within the BN, they might as well vote for the known Devil in DAP, just like how GERAKAN got sandbagged by the UMNO/ Malay voters in Penang.

Prime Minister Najib Razak should have taken under advisement the suggestion to either appoint these parasites as Ministers without portfolio or a Malay to be in charge of Chinese affairs forcing them to behave and earn their way back by winning over the hearts of the Chinese voters instead of talking aloud and losing the sure Malay votes that have been loyally supporting them. Now, the most important thing for the BN Chief Executive to do is to rein everyone in and censor their mouths while whipping them into labour to win in the next General Elections instead of self-sabotaging themselves.

While it is true that Dato’ Sri Najib Razak enjoys approximately 78% in approval ratings in the Merdeka Centre polls, unfortunately, he is not contesting in the 220 odd seats in Parliament. This sort of rating would do well in a Presidential two party system like in America, but in a Parliamentary system like in Malaysia, the whole Barisan Nasional needs to enjoy that kind of ratings as opposed to just its Chairman.

The Prime Minister needs to whip the BN leaders and Ministers into shape and make sure they don’t speak against each other from now until the next General Elections. One way to do that is to limit blatant press conferences by individual leaders/ Ministers and have a Central Command Centre to issue statements after proper vetting, like the Prime Minister’s Department. Time is running out for us and we need to exercise major damage control. BN has everything to lose while the opposition has little to lose but everything to gain. We can’t afford the luxury.

I’m Beginning To Suspect That The MCA Is Deliberately Practicing Self-Sacrifice Forcing BN To Lose In Order For The Aliens To Increase Their Holdings In Malaysian Politics And Press On To More Demands For The Benefit Of Their People, Eventually Taking Control Of Putrajaya Either Directly Or By Proxy Like In Selangor. Once Again It Needs To Be Reminded That The Chinese Regardless Of Their Political Affiliations Stick Together While The Malays Break One Another. If That Is Their Master-Plan, Then MCA Needs To Be Dealt With Decisively Bringing In Alternative Measures. Failure To Realize This Will See The Malays Being Colonized Once Again, Only This Time By Orientals In The Land Once Known As Semenanjung Tanah Melayu.

Sorry, Apologize, Regret, Remorseful, Guilty, Contrite, Ashamed, Compunction, Repentance, Penitent. These Seem To Be The Only Vocabulary In The Dictionary Of THIS Political Mouse!

It has been reported in many sites in Cyberspace that the Home Minister regretted the Allah ban by his Ministry which has haunted the same since it began while blaming his predecessor for it. Now we’ve got the Minister of Islamic Affairs getting in on the debate begging to differ. The case is being weighed by the court and it is a shame when we have a Federal Minister (A Muslim and REGRETTABLY an UMNO Vice President by ACCIDENT!) giving his views that might influence the verdict.

If it is true, then I think Prime Minister Najib (my Mentor) should create a Ministry of Apology and put his first cousin there as Minister instead of the Home Ministry where a real Man with more Guts is needed. I really don’t know why his statements more often than not, seem to side with the non-Malays and infidels of Islam.

With the good Prime Minister on a well deserved holiday, at home, it seems like a circus with an erratic mouse and monkeys from the same Circus Company openly at odds with each other. Hishammuddin, the mouse regrets the action and blames Syed Hamid, a chimp who was clumsy but with naturally much bigger balls than him. Jamil Khir, the righteous chimp wants to maintain the call, while the insignificant MCA, the Monkey King , wants the Home Ministry to rescind the decision. All of them are from Barisan National amusing the opposition who were happily posting it up and gathering more momentum in all their websites making it difficult for the grassroots leaders like me and the rest to work efficiently to ensure a win for the team in the next General Elections.

This Twit Won’t Need That Hand To Wear The Songkok!

There is a popular Malay term that goes “ Sombong Bodoh “ which directly translated means “Arrogantly Stupid”. This is an exclusive term reserved only for the Malays because this unique trait is found mainly in this particular ethnic origin.

Cutting to the chase, I refer to a news web article today on a few of attention seeking Malays who not only claim that they find it embarrassing and prefer to reject the 7% discount for luxury homes, but also proffer to add that it is not provided for in the Constitution. Whoever said that everything has to be stated in the Constitution? Is it written in the Constitution that these seemingly partly retarded Malays have to go to the toilet every day? But don’t they still do? From what I gather, laws are enacted in Parliament and don’t have to be written in the Constitution to be enforced. The United Kingdom has an unwritten Constitution, yet the world still revolves in England.

I wonder if there is a Chinese gentleman out there regardless of his wealth, who’d forego a discount of RM140,000 on a RM2 Million house. I dare say, not only would he rightfully ask for it, knowing how shrewd and nobly unselfish the Chinese are to their race, he’d probably take the discount and donate it to one of their Associations or Chinese Education Fund. Would those accidentally well off Malays mentioned in the news web (As I term them as feces to the Malay society, I will not mention their names in my blog) do the same for their kind? I leave it to your reasonably intelligent minds to pass judgment.

Off late my e-mail has been clogged by forwarded messages from a friend of mine, Datuk Jamaluddin Mansor who gave us the privilege of being our guest writer in The Patriot a couple of times before.

Quite a number of forwarded articles by the good Datuk have irked my emotions and disturbed my routine reading them, but I think this classic one needs responding to.

It is an article by a certain Shaik Rizal Sulaiman on Malay Rights. There are some Malays who think this way. Some of them are either true to their beliefs being ignorant or just trying to be different going against the grain being a Malay hero (read: popular) amongst the non-Malays making them instantly famous around the non-Malay blogs and write-ups.

Allow me to be presumptuous by responding point for point to this gentleman exercising the right to my views just as he has done his. This topic has risen several times before without a satisfactory response from UMNO either because their second line leaders are too deep in their comfort zone or their lack of comprehension in the English language whether spoken or written. Yes, as my Company Chairman once witnessed, one Minister couldn’t even tell the difference between a Security Company and the Securities Commission. So we shouldn’t be all too surprised.

The Malays are 'technically' in power governing the country but it is alsothis same controlling group that demands the right to correct economic
imbalances and disparities for its own race.

1. We are COMMANDING the right to correct economic imbalances and disparities for our own race because it continues to persist.

What does this say about the 'majority governing' Malay race for the last 50 years? I dare say that most Malaysians (regardless of race) below the age of 40 would like to see all opportunities be spread amongst those who deserve it on *meritocracy.*

2. Even through loose observation, one could witness that in the last 50 years, we have succeeded in narrowing the disparities despite being pressured by the non-Malays with all sorts of means be it legal or otherwise in acquiring and begging for projects from some of their corrupt Malay Political Masters. As far as meritocracy is concerned, what would you say when a qualified Malay applies for a job in a Chinese institution or company only to be told that the position is no longer vacant based on the colour of his skin when it actually hasn’t been filled? What would you say when you are qualified for a job except for the fact that speaking in Mandarin is compulsory applying for the same in Malaysia? Is that meritocracy enough for you? Are you even shocked that matters of this nature exist? Do you think if by an unfortunate stroke of bad luck, we wake up one morning under Chinese rule, you as a qualified Malay would be given a cushy job having being discriminated upon by them even while being under Malay rule today?

We do not need the keris anymore to tell others to be careful of what they say and do because in the survival of the fittest, the keris is of verylittle relevance!

3. With due respect Shaik, if someone told you that your mother was servicing two males from Bangladesh from both her ends all at the same time in the back alley of Chow Kit Road, would you still maintain that he needn’t be careful with his words even if it was the truth? I’m sure even a crooked fork would look relevant then, wouldn’t you say? You may say that I am being personal, but Heck! This IS damned personal to the Malays who know their history and have served long in the local workforce, enough to know that even the fittest can get tripped halfway and fall on their faces. Do you think that this is a game that we can afford to lose and start again? This is not a play station where you can press reset every time the game is over. This is life! It is only by chance in birth that we were born in a country that gives us the advantage. Only fools give up a ready advantage and if you are working in Europe or the US, you’d know well enough to keep quiet while you’re one up. No one in corporate Europe or the US would give back what he thinks is unfairly his. College degrees and business theories are worthless in the real world. In La La Land that you wish to live in, perhaps one would give up an advantage, be honest to oneself and his neighbour and live happily ever after. In the real world, they’re happier getting a better life even if it means having to step on peoples’ toes. That is a fact and if it’s good enough in a Capitalistic market in the West, good enough for the non-Malays here, it should damned well be good enough for us, thank you very much.

If we continue to hide under the 'bumiputera' tempurung as most Malays havebeen in the last 50 years or more, the catch-up game will just get harderand the gap wider.

4. The Bumiputera Tempurung is the one that probably helped your grandfather put your dad through school and perhaps is even responsible to turn you into an intelligent Malay lad who has turned on the very policy that has benefited members of your family. If in the last 50 years, although we have narrowed the gap, we have still not reached our target. Wouldn’t it defy logic that we would catch up without it as you have carelessly put it?

If we continue to expect without earning it, we will never learn how to be arace that succeeds on merit. *There is NO substitute for merit*. The Malay politicians continue to shout about Malay rights and bumiputera rightsbecause the very nature of our local politics is sadly racially biased.

5. Well said from a Malay intellect who fails to realize that, with our local politics being racially biased as you suggest, it is essential and on merit that we maintain our stand as the Chinese and Indian parties are even more chauvinistic in their stand to defend their race. Do you presume that we are to stand down while the other parties maintain their hard position? How do you think we managed to get contracts drilling for oil in other parts of the world? Do they have the NEP for Malays there too? Whose company drills there? Ah Chong Oil and Gas company Ltd? NO It’s PETRONAS run by the MALAYS and we achieved it through meritocracy! I’ll have you know from personal experience that I am currently working with an all Bumiputera team which bought an overpriced company from a Chinese party that couldn’t work the business at all although it has monopolistic characteristics. In just four months, for the first time in 8 years, we’ve managed to rehabilitate and transform the outfit into a full-fledged working reception plant and started earning revenue while cleaning the environment performing National Service. Would you now like to check our blood to determine whether we are pure Malays?

In this day and age, a great nation is built upon joint success stories,meritocracy and the combined hard work of its people WITHOUT any fear orfavour of racial biased politics governing our daily policies. Sadly, the Malay politicians have ended up completely corrupt, racialists, twistedreligious fanatics.

6. Please name one nation which precisely reflects our multiracial country that practices equal rights where the people work “WITHOUT any fear or favour of racial biased politics governing their daily policies.” I can name one in the South but they not only live in fear of the Government, they are darn-right TERRIFIED! Some Malay politicians are corrupted but not the entire cast. If the Malay leaders are religious fanatics, the I.S.A. today, wouldn’t be filled with terrorist suspects with intentions to terrorize the infidels whom we are protecting. Also, you imply that Chinese or Indian politicians are pristine and corrupt-free? Have you not read how one MCA minister took free private jet rides from a certain company who was also allegedly accused of taking millions from a certain party to finance his entire political party? Yes, the case may have been dismissed but that is either because the witnesses changed stories halfway through or disappeared into thin air. As one easily perceives Malay politicians to be corrupt, one can equally perceive the others to be the same too once an allegation emerges.

I am below 40 and as much as I love the 'idea' that Malaysia is tanah tumpahnya darah orang Melayu, I can't help but also feel that this countryis for ALL Malaysians alike including the Chongs, the Kumars, the Xaviers,the Singhs & Kaurs etc who were born on the same day in the same hospital asme here in Malaysia.

7. Well spoken, very noble indeed. Perhaps Shaik, you should learn your history and analyze their behaviour and attitude when they are at an advantage over us. Refer to the Bintang Tiga and prior to May 13th when they behaved atrociously vulgarly antagonizing the Malays in their kampongs when they won an election. The Malays will be sympathetic towards their cause at times but THEY will give no quarters back whatsoever to the Malays when it is the other way around. It is not about you being born together with them in this blessed land that gives them the same privileges as you. No one is forcing you to accept the helping hand from the Malay government. It is there for the needy. When I was in junior school, I was given a form to fill to apply for free text books. My father asked me to reject it in fear of depriving those more deserving pupils whose parents couldn’t afford it. They included even the poor Indians and Chinese too, not only the Malays. This country my dear chap is for all Malaysians alike. No Indian or Chinese can live better and easier lives in a country other than Malaysia. If they can, they would have shipped out long ago. Those who are left here complaining are the losers who are just as lazy as the Malays you so happily refer to.

If we feel that WE (the Malays) deserve this country more than THEM , thenWE (the Malays) should have shown them a long time ago that we deserve the'control all' status. *We have to earn it.* The policies FAILED because the very concept of Malayrights or the NEP/DEB is like a double-edged sword. On one hand, it aims toeradicate wealth disparity but on the other, it has made the Malaysoblivious of what reality is. Our (Malays) success is only reflected in the'perceived' political power which today can collapse in a matter of minutes.I would also like to see my children succeed in their country, Malaysia, for reasons that true success should be based upon, which are merit and hardwork and NOT because they are Malays or bumiputeras. For as long as the Malays don't see this, there is very little point infighting for Malay rights..

8. We as Malays have earned it. It was the Malays who fought for Independence. It was the Malays who were generous in allowing the aliens to be given full citizenship and share the wealth of this nation. You are implying that the Chinese are the only ones qualified and are successful in running a business establishment. Tell me then, who runs Petronas? Who drills offshore under the name of Petronas in a score of countries around the world earning the nation more than we do draining our own fields? What about our banks and other successful institutions like the Tabung Haji, which is well known amongst the Islamic world for its organization and business acumen? What about the Permodalan Nasional Berhad and even Sime Darby (before Musa Hitam and his CEO) which have generated billions allowing us to send hundreds of thousands of students abroad to study on scholarships and giving the majority of the rural folks a better living? Who turned this country into a car producing nation which has sold millions around the world creating thousands of skilled Malay workers in a sector which was jealously kept within the Chinese community before this? Is it the Chinese and Indians who run these establishments? NO! They are MALAYS! It escapes me what is causing you to have this skewed vision towards the Malays.

It just makes us look more ridiculous. We have taken this notion of being privileged a bit too literally in that it now simply means we want this country and its fruits all for ourselves without accepting theresponsibilities that come with it. I blame the MALAY politicians for thisbecause we want to only fight the cause without strategising for the truesubstance and need of the cause.* We have been given fish all the whilewithout being taught how to fish.*

9. Like you, I too am a Malay but I don’t know where you get your facts from thinking that every Malay is taking fine advantage of these privileges. I’ll have you know that I worked at the Stock Exchange through school and paid my tuition fees abroad without a cent from the Malaysian Government. Yes there were those who abused it but there were many more who didn’t. Those non-Malay students who studied abroad could have had their fees paid by their fathers some of whom bribed their way to success. They didn’t have to compete with equally competent Malay companies because their meritocracy was CORRUPTION! Yes, the Malay politicians may have been corrupted, but by whose hands?! It takes two to tango and it’s not Malay all the way in that department, I assure you. By saying that “we have been given fish all the while without being taught how to fish” I’m presuming that you were one of the lazy Malays who were at the receiving end getting fish. I can say with much pride, that I, like many other Malays I know, was never given the “fish”, and those institutions and establishments I mentioned two paragraphs above were the “boat” given to the Malays to fish in deep waters so that their generous catch can be evenly distributed among the needy.

It's funny how two different generations can be so diverse in their thinking and the recent elections proved just that... We are no longer concerned withracial problems but more so the never-ending Malay agenda issues. The rakyathas spoken and the landscape has drastically changed. Is this changewelcomed? Is it good?

10. Yes the Rakyat has spoken, and even though the landscape has changed because of the the government’s decision to engage the youths and allow more freedom of expression, which they have learnt to take for granted but are unable to handle today, they have forgotten that the current and old government is still the choice of the Rakyat. The change is very much welcomed so that the opposition party who’ve been very good at criticizing, will have the chance to display either their ability or DISABILITY to lead us all. In recent months, they have been proven to be 1. Liars, ( Sept 16th change of Federal Govt which didn’t happen), 2. Scandalous, ( An assembly-woman was intimately involved with a married person and celebrated her right to commit adultery forgetting that being a politician, she became public property and ceased to have a private life, then went on a holiday deceiving the daft section of the Rakyat into thinking that she was serious about vacating her seat only to come home and have her resignation offer rejected ) 3. Corrupt ( receiving sexual and monetary favours in return for decisions favourable to the benefactor). 4. Non-transparent and irresponsible ( Allowing officers charged of corruption to continue to serve instead of being suspended like the ruling party does in similar circumstances.) 5. Abusive with power. (cows and car accessories for the MB’s constituencies and private motor car at the expense of the State Government) 6. Internal bickering, attacking one another within the party trying to dislodge their own colleague from the Menteri Besar's post.(this is the disease they might've caught from UMNO) 7. Allow the Chinese to “sub-contract” the MB's post (by default) to a Malay but follow their orders to the "T" in the running of the State, and a lot more but we'll be here till Ramadhan if I continued.

The answer is 'NO'. Because we,the Malays, have been caught with our pantsdown - we are not ready to compete on any level playing field (we can't evencompete on advantageous grounds!). Even with three or five more continuingpolicies for Malay rights or bumiputera privileges over the next 50 years,we will still be in exactly the same position as we are in today.

11. If we are in the same position in 50 years to come, that means we haven’t completely failed because while the gap may not have narrowed down, it has not widened either and under the current scenario, everyone gets to eat and live healthily in Malaysia. So what’s your problem with that?. Even today, we are living under meritocracy. Malay contractors have to compete with the Chinese and are losing out because the others are more generous corrupting high officials compared to the Malays. You must have a fetish for the non-Malays to think that they are the ones who built this nation single-handedly and fairly. Might I remind you that even the highways you travel on across the Peninsula were built by Malay companies.

The truth hurts and the truth will always prevail. And the truth of what'sto come will NOT go away. I am cynical perhaps because I feel that Malay rights is NOT relevant anymore.

12. Yes, you can bet your last earned Ringgit that the truth does hurt. And when it smacks you hard on the face that you were wrong about all races being able to look beyond the colour of their skin, no cream or ointment in the world would be able to heal your backside because by then, the situation will be irreversible. We may give up our rights to be equal, but are you willing to bet on your children’s lives (not future but lives) that the others will do the same? Do you really want to give them the benefit of the doubt my noble friend?

The right to be safe, to be treated fairly, to have a world-class healthcare
and education, to enjoy equal prosperity, to have good governance, to livein a clean environment and to be war-free is what I want for my Malaysia.NOT for MY race to be artificially powerful.*

13. Please wake up and stop quoting from some American Presidential campaign pamphlet. I’m a Malaysian and I feel safe. There is no other country in the world where you can enjoy food and beverage in town over 24 hours without feeling safe. Name me one country other than Malaysia! It’s as fair as anywhere in the world if not better. My Chinese friends are coming back to Malaysia although they still maintain homes abroad because they suddenly discovered that the grass isn’t as green as they thought it was down under and in Europe. Their skin colour may be overlooked but their eyes can tell no lie (no pun intended). We may not have a world class health care program for the rich and famous but the normal man in the street (this includes the poor non-Malays) can still be treated as an out-patient which costs a mind blowing ONE RINGGIT at any Government hospital! Can Australia, Britain or even the mighty United States of America beat that old boy? You are asking us to be War Free? Where the hell are you writing from? The Gaza Strip?

If we want the Malays to fail, then by all means continue the fight for Malay rights.. Go and polish your keris..

14. Hmm….It’s like saying if you want to fail in your exams, by all means continue studying. Go and burn the midnight oil. Those last sentences by Master Shaik Rizal Sulaiman has convinced me even more that we will need to defend the New Economic Model because he surely won’t make the cut in the world of total Meritocracy.

In recent months we have seen the Syariah Courts allowing quite a few Malaysto exercise their rights to a third or fourth wife. Fair, the guy may beable to provide for the financial & conjugal needs of his wives. However,question here is when he has a dozen kids, will he be able to provide adecent education and life to his kids or will he demand for his 'Rights' forsubsidy and aid and be a burden to the govt and society.

14. It is not the right of the Malays to take on up to 4 wives. It is the right of Muslim men who can afford it and are willing. Being ignorant, you may ask many questions. Perhaps if you do a proper survey, you will find that not even 1 in 1,000 Muslim men have 4 wives in Malaysia. Perhaps in your view, committing adultery too would be a better way out in order not to burden the government too much. Like the NEP, although the right and privilege is there, not all Malays and Muslims choose to exercise it. The government doesn’t give aid like the UK gives out dole benefits to the unemployed. Scholarships and aid are given to those children who are straight “A” students from poor families. I’m sure that would be a burden the government is happy to bear. Why would you make it sound as though every Malay gets benefit for nothing? Your prejudicial views against the Malays negate your sincerity for the same.

UMNO PRESIDENT TO OFFICIATE PULAI DIVISIONAL MEETING

UMNO President YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib b Tun Abdul Razak will be officiating the Pulai UMNO Annual General Meeting on Sunday, the 11th July 2010/ 29th Rejab 1431H. Najib who is Prime Minister will also be gracing the Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat Complex which houses the Pulai UMNO Office, Gallery, Seminar room to fit 350 and a Banquet Hall with a capacity of 1000 pax. Pulai is one of the few UMNO divisions in the country which has its own UMNO complex thanks to the hard work put in by its late Patriarch and former Secretary General Tan Sri Mohamed Rahmat ( May Allah’s Blessings Be Upon Him).

Traditionally, the UMNO President would officiate his Deputy’s Divisional meeting only. This year Najib has opted to officiate one UMNO division in every state. Pulai has been his choice for Johor Darul Taqzim , the Bastion of Barisan Nasional, indicating how efficient and successful this divison is in serving the people and holding up the support for our Party.
